The body is not here but the spirit still alive in another dimension, you will never die. So just invoke her whenever you feel that imperious need to be closer to her, look at a happy picture in a memorable place and speak to her, even if it sounds silly, but you will feel her presence... Life in earth is not just the final frontier, but most people feel it is and has nothing to do with religion, just etheral bodies that leave the flesh. I know is not easy to accept certain things but if you keep up a candle when you need to speak to the ones who are not here any longer you can feel that closeness again. What one has to loose, just liberate that mind from dogmatic believes that have not always bring us happiness and get some peace with you and the ones that have departed...we shall meet again.

To Charlotte: My deepest sympathy to you. Fiona and I were friends throughout the MT Programme. We had so many laughs together! She gave me an ashtray that belonged to her aunt. We lost touch after I moved to Washington, DC. I am back in Calgary. I will always remember you, Fiona. You taught me to enjoy life and to laugh at all of the nonsense. Rest in peace! THE GIFT
As we stood there silently
Tears streaming down our faces
I started thinking to myself
Of all the many places
Where She had gone
Where She had been
Of all the Friends
That she had seen
Sharing stories
Laughs and cries
Giving us
Those last Good Byes
And in Her time of dying
She showed us how to live
I smiled and thought, yet one more gift
Fiona had to give

Dear Charlotte,
I am so, so, sorry for your loss and your heartache. We met once or twice when Fiona brought you to Wise Wood - I was an AP there and then moved to Western. I remember the first day your mom came to sub at Wise Wood. She took no time in rolling up her sleeves and making the first day for our grade 10 students an amazing success. I was elated when we were able to have her as a full time teacher. I was also blessed with doing her evaluation and thus seeing first-hand what a wonderful teacher she was. She gave her heart to the profession and made Wise Wood a great place to be but the biggest part of her heart always belonged to you. We chatted often and you were always in the conversation. She loved you fiecely and fought the good fight. My last memory of her was when she stopped by at Western to thank me for helping her find a good high school for you. And although Western was always an option, you chose the PVA program at Central and she could not have been more happy and proud. I know she wanted to spend more time with you and am certain she will continue to live in your heart. She touched mine in a big way and I will not forget her. For you, though, if you every need anything, any time, any where, please know your mom has left a legacy of supports and contacts including me -- so please do not hesitate to lean or reach out as I and many others would be honoured to help. My thoughts and prayers are with your both.
Godspeed Fiona

My deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved Fiona. Thirty years had passed since we attended high school together, but I was blessed to see her again last Christmas and found the same playful, witty and intelligent person I remembered from so many years ago -- a twinkle in her eye and one step ahead of me, as usual. Truly a beautiful person, and a heartbreaking loss to us all. May her memory be eternal, and give you courage and strength.

Charlotte, I ache for your loss. I worked with Fiona at Wise Wood and was always supported by her with our Student Council activities, making popcorn and athletic tournaments. When I moved to Alternative she came to visit after dropping you off at school. We had great chats about the world of education and how important you were to her life. I was excited to hear of your trip to the UK this past summer and see some photos. I will miss her. My life is better for knowing her and being able to work beside her. Please know that we are here to support you in any way we can.

Fiona, I met her through Andy Reeve, as they went to school together...She came out to the west coast for a visit in Oct. 2012. She was one of a kind, no one like her...Her heart was full kindness...She was always ensuring that everyone was alright....She enjoyed her time out on the ocean...fishing...while she was here....I drove into town a couple of times and we laughed and talked about old concerts and said I went to that one....I drove her to catch the ferry boat the next day.It was a beautiful sunny day...I told her nice day for a boat ride....I went to visit in Calgary ....end of Oct. 2012...And she was there to pick me up at the airport....her pretty smile.....She brought me to her pad the day before I was departing Calgary to come back to Powell River. BC....for the short amount of time I met her...she was my friend...My deepest Sympathy to her daughter Charlotte you will be in my prayers and thoughts...and to her family and long-time friends.....She will be for ever in your hearts and dreams.....

My deepest sympathy to Charlotte and Fiona's family. Charlotte I recently met you at Union Station after the fundraiser at Glenmore Park during summer time. Your mom and I went to school together. I remember first meeting your Mom in Grade 7 when she was always giggling and laughing at school. We hadn't seen each other until the reunions and more often in recent years. It was refreshing to see that nothing had changed and that she could still light up a room with her smiles and her happy demeanor. I will always remember the positive personality that she always radiated to everyone!

My deepest sympathy to Charlotte and Fiona's family. To Charlotte, I met you briefly in summer when I joined your mom and family late at Union Station after the fundraiser run at Glenmore Park. I still remember first meeting your Mom in grade 7 at Massey and she was such a happy student giggling away with Edie. Even though we didn't reconnect until reunions and in more in recent years it was refreshing to see that she has not changed at all and still makes a room sparkle with her smiles and positive demeanor. I'll never forget the positive person that she is!

Fiona - your were brilliant, cuttingly witty, endlessly kind-hearted, unfailingly honest and utterly genuine. I've never known anyone quite like you. I adored you, I really did.
January 23, 2013
To Charlotte and the rest of Fiona's family. I was privileged to study with Fiona for our teaching degrees. I always marvelled at her sense of humour, her strength for returning to school with a young daughter to support and to parent, her dedication to learning and teaching, and her energizing spirit. Charlotte, in the two years that I spent with your mom, she taught me so much about being a mom. Her love for you was palpable. She was full of light and energy, especially when she would speak of you, which was so, so often. She was so intelligent and creative, and I am so blessed to have known and spent time with her.

I feel blessed that I got to know Fiona over the past year and a half on the web--'cyberia' as she often referred to it. Through blogs and emails and regular private facebook correspondence we discovered common sensibilities and interests. Thinking back, we trekked through the same hallways as kids during jr. and sr. high school, yet didn't quite cross paths then. This is so sad to me now--so many years we could have shared...
My deepest heartfelt condolences to Charlotte and family ~

Fiona, you were such a bright light to so many of us. I will always remember you for your ability to make me smile and laugh out loud, especially in our more recent years as re-acquainted friends who had grown up in the same neighborhood and went to the same schools. I will also remember you fondly for your occasional but quite refreshing bluntness with me. After all, we all need to be rendered a little unsettled by the truth from time to time. One last thing; I would give anything to be able to hear you continue to complain endlessly about the parking in this City. My heartfelt condolences go out to Charlotte and the family.

and she was always there for us,
She was loving, kind, and caring,
loyal and filled with trust.
She's gone to a better place now,
but she has never left,
She's in our thoughts and hearts,
she's at peace as she rests.
Her life was full of choices,
and she always made them right,
Even through the toughest times,
She always put up a good fight.
Through all obsiticles in life,
She's standing by our side,
Even when we look at the stars,
She's smiling in the sky. god bless
