Not sure what to say?

I wanted to correct my previous quote: Flora would call my aunt and when I would answer the phone she would say, Oh yeah hi Keith, is Anne there? There was a casual offhand quality she had that impressed me with how laid back she was. She was cool. Flora I wanted to say that your coolness left an impression on me that was inspiring. I hope you are chilling out somewhere while exploring the universe. I hope to catch up with you again someday. Your friend, Keith.

Flora, my first real math teacher, made a Great impact on my life.

Having come from a poor environment, I never imagined that one caring teacher could have such a positive world changing effect on me, my younger siblings and later on my children and their children. All, from the disciplined approach to learning that Flora taught me and that I was able to teach to so many, many others.

Flora, I learned those lessons well at Parkway and I thank God that you set me on the rightful path. The fruits of your labors went very, very far and well.

(I did attend Lehigh University, as a Math major, and I am an assistant director at a university.)

Thankfully, we were able to visit you and Roy in Media. I still have the photo of you Roy and my oldest daughter. She grew up to attend university, graduating with a Bachelors and shortly afterward her Masters degree. My siblings all graduated from college. All of these achievements can all be traced back to Flora having taught, and cared about this one kid at a school without walls.

Flora, thank you.
God bless

Raymond

I did not know about Flora's death (on Dec. 12, 2017) until today when I found it here by accident. I wish I could have attended the service. I had wondered why she did not attend my aunt Anne Barney's service since they were best friends. (Anne died December 25, 2012.)

I will always recall how nice Flora was. She called my aunt frequently when I lived at their house and I often answered the phone. She always said, "Oh hi Keith. Is Anne there?" I am glad that she and my aunt were so close. It was a beautiful friendship. I'd like to think that these two fine ladies are palling around in the next world as well, going shopping and out to lunch together like old times.

Flora, I am glad I knew you and your family. I hope you are having fun wherever you are.

Belated condolences to Allison and Roy.

Flora must be thinking of me. I worked at Parkeay and admired her teaching skills. I asked her how I could help with my grandchildren ~ her reply was talk to them ., I also admired her when she mentioned in a conversation that her ministers wife was wearing a coat that had seen better days, she bought her a new coat. Generous woman in love and faith.

Flora was my champion, at Parkway. She believed in me, when I couldnt. I have wonderful memories and stories, that I often share, about her kindness and generosity. She was a gem. My deepest condolences to you, Dr. Eikerenkoetter and to you, Allison. I met you both in your home in Media, many years ago. I have often thought about your beautiful family, and the impression you made in my life, along my journey. I regret not seeing this post, before tonight.
