Flora Wright

Flora B. “Flo” (Demers) Wright, 98, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, October 22, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Bear Mountain at West Springfield surrounded by all the memories that she loved and cherished. She was born in Pittsfield on December 4, 1921, a beloved daughter of the late Napoleon and Agnes (Thebodo) Demers. She was raised in Chester and moved to Chicopee many years ago. She was a longtime meat wrapper who worked well into her 80s at the former Pat’s Supermarket in Holyoke. Flo enjoyed dancing, going on vacation, long rides through the countryside and especially enjoyed trying her luck at the Mohegan Sun Casino. She especially loved spending her time attending thoroughbred horse racing at the Three County Fairgrounds in Northampton. She was a longtime communicant at the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Chicopee. She leaves her three loving children, Sandra A. “Sandy” Krassler and her husband, Karl, of Holyoke, Bonnie Landry of Chicopee and Bernard Chartier, Jr. of Greenfield; her three cherished grandchildren, Dale Landry, Dawn Theroux and her husband, Brian, and Megan Landry; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, friends, and her wonderful neighbors. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home capacity is limited due to state regulations).
