Florence Josephine (Bell) Dillon

September 1, 1930 - March 26, 2025

Florence Josphine (Bell) Dillon, 94, of Mashpee, passed away unexpectedly at Cape Cod Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends on March 26, 2025. Raised and educated in Malden, Massachusetts; Florence was the only child of Frederick and Josephine (Sebastiani) Bell.

In her youth, Florence was a capable enough musician; one among many in her very talented extended family. As a young woman, Florence attended the Mass General School of Nursing, Boston, Massachusetts. Following her graduation, she continued to work at Mass General until 1965.

Aside from taking many K-9 companions under her care over the years, including former Greyhound racer rescues; Florence was devoted to her family and Christian faith. She was the loving mother to her sons Michael R. who passed as an infant and Robert F. (Bobby), who passed in 2015, and the beloved wife of 62 years to former U S. serviceman, Korean War veteran, and love of her life, Robert M. (Bob) Dillon, who passed in 2014; missing him every day.

Florence is survived by her beloved God daughter, Terri (Coronella) McDonald, her husband John J McDonald of Mashpee and their two sons Dillon and Jack whom she considered her grandchildren and many cousins, friends, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Chapel, 5 Job's Fishing Rd., Mashpee, MA on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Committal will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA, at 12:30 pm.
