Florence Kalis, age 91 of Waldorf, MN, died Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 12, 2007 at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf, MN. Visitation will be Sunday, November 11th, 2007 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells with Rosary at 3:00 P.M. and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Fr. Glenn Frerichs will officiate and burial will be in the Waldorf Community Cemetery in Waldorf.Florence Kathleen Kalis was born April 26, 1916 the daughter of Joseph and Tekla (Duza) Sereda in Minnesota Lake, MN. Florence attended country school. On May 2, 1934, Florence was united in marriage to Marvin Kalis at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. Florence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf, St. Ann’s Guild, and CCW. Florence enjoyed being a member of Red Hat Society. She enjoyed trips to casinos, playing cards, watching TV, and travel in the car. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her neighborhood club.She is survived by 5 children: Donna Wenthold of Palm Springs, CA, Sharon Kalis of Waldorf, MN, Dick and his wife Diane Kalis of Mankato, MN, Wayne and his wife Tamra Kalis of Elysian, MN, and Terry and his wife Jerilyn Kalis of Waldorf, MN; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, son Marvin Kalis Jr., grandson Mark Kalis; 4 sisters and 1 brother; son-in-law: Clarence Wenthold.

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Florence was a very special person that was always thinking of other people and would do those little extra special things to comfort others. She has touched many people in her life.
She probably is already involved in a game of cards with Donna, Clem, and Ruth. Please know that you have many peoples prayers to help ease some of your grief.
