Ms. Yarney was my English teacher at Riverside High School back in the 80's. I loved her teaching style and she made me feel seen at a time when most people didn't see me. She was one of the reasons that I write as a past time today. She was so encouraging and there was never a stupid question in her class. Her smile and her wit were contagious! May she continue to rest in love and grace.

I remember her fondly. She was my 10th grade English teacher. When I think of her, the first memory that pops in my head is hearing oohs from my classmates, and looking up to find Mrs. Yarney tap dancing for her class.

Another silly memory I have of her is her passing out our work one day. When she passed out my classmate's paper to her who happened to sit next to me, I noticed that Mrs. Yarney had drawn a picture of a can of beans on her paper, along with a couple of beans dancing, drawn with eyes and a mouth. She had drawn a red circle around a word that my classmate had misspelled...the word "human beans" (human beings). I still chuckle when I think of this moment.

I still think of you Mrs. Yarney, and miss you dearly. I will never forget you. Rest In Heaven...<3
