You were truly a remarkable woman, loving Nana, and a beautiful soul. There are so many things that you have given me, but the best gift was using your life, love, and actions as a ministry to draw me (and I am sure many others) closer to Christ. As I think about who you were, I am just so overwhelmed with joy knowing that your time here on earth was spent doing exactly what Christ called us to do, to love God with all our hearts, soul, strength and mind, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. That's amazing! And your life is truly a testimony of how we are supposed to love, endure hardships, and devote our lives to giving God the glory. That's what happens when I think of you Nana....I think of how AMAZING God is since He made you in His image. How you are so loving, generous, kind, and willing to go to bat for your family...how much more God are those exact things for all of us.

I am so thankful to have you as my Nana and so appreciative of the times we spent together. And I am so honored to share this day with you! The day that I was called to the earth to be born is the same exact day you were called into heaven to be with Jesus. That's amazing.

l love you my HOT Nana!!!!!!! And I know I get my little bit of crazy from you!

Hafa adai Auntie Encha and family, as I read the entries here in Auntie Encha's Guest Book, there are so many wonderful words and feelings expressed about our relationship and experience of how this Angel of God has touched our lives and has helped mold me to be a better person, husband, father, brother, neighbor and Christian to all around me. Auntie Encha was also a tremendous inspiration to me because of the health issues she endured and showed me that even with all the pain she was feeling, it was great to be alive and to enjoy another day here in Paradise with our love ones. I felt closer to her when she came to Utah and was at my bedside for my kidney transplant surgery .Auntie Encha's presence, unselfish love, and compassion was so overwhelming and inspiring, I felt she represented my Mom(Pupe), because she loved us as her own. She also came for my daughter's (Missie and Lee's) wedding. I thanked her for being there because it meant so much to me and my family, she said "I wouldn't miss it for the world Son". This is something only a loving Mother would say. She sure could cut a mean rug on the dance floor at the reception. (Many thanks to my cuz Aggie, for making these two experiences possible)

Yes, the heavens may have gained an amazing angel but our family here on Earth has certainly lost one when our Father in heaven called you home. Precious is what you are to me and my girls, Juls and Camie. That is why they always treated you like a Queen when you are around them. We feel so much kindness, patience and an abundance of genuine love pouring out from your tiny body. You were so much like your sister, Guadalupe, my mother, in teaching your children to love God first, your family and then every thing else. You were the best mother to your children, an awesome Tia, and wonderful sister. Juls,Camie and I will miss you terribly. Thank you for all the love you had shown us and for everything you did for us. You are finally home with all your family who you have missed. I know that you are all having a blast up there with your brothers and sisters. I can imagine all the laughter going on. I can see Nana trying to keep you all order and Tata on the side just soaking it all up. Si Yuus Maase put todu i guinaiyamu yan todu nu i minaolekmu gi yahami. Heaven has gained another angel. I have never met anyone with such a pure heart filled with so much faith, love, and kindness. Auntie Encha was always such a joy to be around. One of our favorite memories of her is watching her dance at Jakob and Joshua's birthday party. Her smile was that of true happiness as she "cha-cha'd" amongst her family. She is surely watching over us as she dances in heaven.

Mom, you always made me feel like I was family. I am so grateful to have known you, loved you and been loved by you. Rest in Peace! One of God's angels is home!

April 14, 2014

Mom,
So much that's good about my life comes from having an amazing, loving, and humble mother who cared enough to raise us right with the Lord.
You gave your all to God and your family. You showed your unconditional love every single day through the little things you did, with your encouraging words and comforting hugs, the sacrifices you made as an Army spouse, and the loving care you gave us.
You had such a beautiful spirit and heart of gold. You gave so much of yourself to us and others, never once thinking of yourself. You always welcomed my friends with open arms and made them feel part of the family.
Mom, you were the “Super glue” that kept our family together. You raised us with strong family values and respect for our Chamorro culture. You taught us to forgive others and, most importantly, to be thankful for our blessings.
Your faith in the Lord gave you the courage and strength to withstand the storms of life. But in the end, he saw your suffering and pain. He knew it was time for you to rest and be with Him.
I thank you for the ways you have been there for me and my family, helping, caring and loving. I am blessed and honored to have had an incredible role model as my mother and a friend.
I miss your beautiful smile, warm hugs, soft voice, and warm tatizas. I miss our Sunday dinners, shopping trips, sharing my adventures over a cup of coffee, and all the other fun things we used to do.
I miss you dearly and will cherish all the wonderful memories we've made that will last a lifetime. You will always be in my thoughts and forever in my heart until we meet again.

Love always,
Aggie

Mom, I drew closer to Christ Jesus because of the way you lived your life. You always welcomed everyone and never turned anyone away. It takes a true follower of Christ to go through hardships you did and still be selfless. You taught me that no matter what kind of negatives come, Trust in God is the only thing that can get us through it. I Love you Mom and I know that we'll meet again someday so I won't say goodbye, I'll just keep saying Bilenbinis Bendici My Love....You are always in my heart and will always be a part of my life forever, your daughter, Risa

The life lessons I have acquired from knowing my grandma is priceless. She has showed me that true strength comes from having a insurmountable level of love that can overcome any level of hate and malice. I really can not think of one creature or being to ever have foul words for her come from their mouth. She possessed the purest and brightest light I've ever seen from a person. I will heed every word and action she relayed to me. My love for Florencia Matanane exceeds past, present, and future into eternity.

Florencia Matanane was truly the matriarch of her family. She is the original "Island Queen".She is my wonderful mother in-law who was happy and holy. She was a woman of god who praised him daily. She truly defined a “Virtuous Woman”. I can't thank her enough for blessing me with her precious daughter Lorna Manglona Alexander. Mom and I had a unique relationship filled with fun, love, and laughter. Her touch will be missed, but her smile and loving heart will be remembered forever. When god called her home, she transitioned into the “Guardian Angel” of our family. Her Love, Life, and Spirit will foster change for future generations.

Love,
Your Son In-law

To the most loving, accepting, kind, and beautiful woman I know – my mother, Florencia Aguon Matanane. You are the epitome of a virtuous woman. You served God with all your heart, mind, and soul. You not only nurtured us with the love of Christ, but also everyone else around you. You served your family, friends and neighbors with a gentle and loving spirit. As evidenced by the Hurricane Katrina families, you had a charitable spirit by giving to others when you did not have much (material items) yourself. Anyone who came in contact with you knew that you truly served God with all your heart, mind, and soul. As a virtuous woman, you worked tirelessly to provide for your family without complaining or even appearing weary. You were always encouraging and looked at us with full of promise – an attribute I learned from you that I practice with my own children. Lastly, you are a woman of worth and beauty! You had an inner beauty that only comes from Christ. You always had a sense of style and dressed in the latest fashion. You were a woman with style and grace. You have touched so many lives and have blessed so many people around the world with your grace and presence of God. With all that you are and all that you have done on this earth, I strive to be a virtuous woman like you! I love you mom and will miss your sweet smile, your friendly way, and your loving spirit!

I will always remember Auntie Encha as a loving person; always showed mercy to others. She was kind, humble, gentle and patient. When someone did her wrong, Auntie Encha was always forgiving because God forgave her, but most important, she had love and the strength and faith on Our Lord. Love is what holds us all together in perfect unity. I will miss her dearly.

God Bless all my cousins.

To all of you, I know that we have lost a wonderful woman, friend, mother and grandmother, each day I read the guest book and know that each person sending their condolences have the same thing in common, that we have lost a wonderful friend, but that we all know that now she is at peace and no more suffering. She is here with us and will always be, I close my eyes and think of all the wonderful moments we shared as in-laws. I will miss your mom, but will always remember the wonderful memories and long talks that we shared about all and nothing. To Frances, Martha, Agnes, Lorna, Martin and Carl, I share the pain of losing your mom, but remember the love that she gave all of you. Forgive one another and bond even more now and be close to one another. Our love and prayers to all of you and to my daughter Marissa. God bless you all.
