Floyd ARNOLD Obituary
(Past President and Executive Director of the Nepean Chamber of Commerce)
Passed away peacefully surrounded with his loving family by his side at the Kemptville District Hospital on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Floyd Barclay Arnold, at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband of Heather (nee Harkins). Dear father of Jeffrey Arnold (Nancy Graves) of Kemptville, Jennifer Shaw (Christopher) of Hartington and Tom Naylor (Marlene) of Winnipeg. Sadly missed by his seven grandsons, one granddaughter, two great- grandsons and by several nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by a sister Janis Higgins (Bruce) and by his brother-in- law Woody Harkins (Linda) and Terry Harkins (deceased) Coreen. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland, on Friday May 13 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., when a ceremony celebrating Buck's life will be held in the chapel, with interment to follow in the Tower Columbarium. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Beth Donovan Hospice Kemptville will be gratefully acknowledged. Special thanks to our family physician Dr. Dan Hollman and the incredible care provided by the nurses at the Kemptville District Hospital. Heather and Family,
I well remember meeting Buck in my early years in fundraising. Buck was one of QCHF's greatest ambassador and the Ray of Hope Campaign was a favourite of his and the Chamber he so aptly led. Heather you also volunteered with our events which Buck was so involved supporting. He remains a special mentor to me in how groups can work together and bring the best out of each other. I'm at such a loss for words and am so saddened by this news. Buck mentored me during my time with the chamber and was such a great guy to be with; at home, at work, out for a bite or at the golf course. Moving to Westport distanced our friendship but I often thought of the Arnold's and this always brought a smile to my face. Well "Buckaroo" - I'll enjoy a GM in celebration of you and some day we'll meet up again and have one together. Heather, Jeff, Jenn and Tom - if there is anything you need........ Buck - I am still proud to call you "Friend"
