It was with sadness that I just learned of the death of our friend, Floyd. My law partner and I were office neighbors of his agency at Buckhead Centre for many years. After we moved our offices to Dunwoody, I continued to visit with Floyd each time I was in Buckhead. His wit, intelligence, and genuine interest in other people made him a friend to be treasured. I offer my condolences to his family, and to all of his friends and associates who feel his loss.

My condolences to Floyd's family from a fellow scotsman and an advertising contemporary. He was a good friend for many years.
I'll always remember the castle at the ferry to Skye with the inscription over the entrance: "As long as there is a McRae within there will never be a Fraser without."

To all the family:
My deepest sympathy to you on the passing of a great fellow. I first met Floyd at W & L in 1942 and later knew him much better when we served on active duty in the Air Force in 1951 at Fort Benning. And I am proud to have called him my friend.

to the family of FLOYD W MCRAE JR
I am very sorry to hear of the untimely passing of the great indominatable Floyd McRae, whom I worked under for a number of years in his capacity as advertising executive for McRae and Bealer advertising, Atlanta. Floyd was an impeccable and inexhaustive corporate boss who demanded perfection at all cost. He was also delightful and witty and full of fun, who became a great friend. I always appreciated his Scottish heritage, as I went to live there,
and thought of him every time there was a mention or image of Eilean Donan Castle near the Isle of Skye, as this was and is the MacRae stronghold. He used to depart suddenly from meetings due to an urgent fire, something which always held his urgent attention. He was a classic, and there will never be another like him. He will be missed, even as far as from Scotland.
With love to the family,
Marianna Lines
one time creative director for McRae & Bealer, Inc. Atlanta
now living in Scotland, native of Atlanta

I will always remember coming to work at McRae & Bealer in 1966 as a temp, not even knowing what an advertising agency did. However, by asking questions and showing an interest in the business, I was hired as a permanent employee. What fun it was, learning from "McRae". His height was only matched by his sense of humor. My lessons served me well over the years as I recently retired from an affiliate business after 33 years. To "young Floyd", Douglas and Lee, cherish the memories for I'm sure they are many! My deepest sympathy to each family member. Libby Acree Watson

Floyd was a true friend. He gave me a hand up when I was down at a critical time in my life. Through his kindness and concern I joined McRae and Bealer advertising agency and became vice president and account exec. Best job I ever had exept for being a Navy fighter pilot. Floyd would appreciate that statement. My deepest sympathy to the family as we celebrate a life well lived.

My father, Garland M. Watkins Jr., was Mr. McRae's boyhood friend and next door neighbor on West Andrews Drive. Though Daddy died 20 years ago in an automobile accident, I still remember the funny stories he told us about him and "Sonny," as Mr. McRae was called as a boy. Please accept my sympathy for your loss but know that a smile comes to my face every time I think about the experiences those two shared 75 years ago.

Atlanta Fire Recue Station 21
October 6, 2005
What an honor and privilege it has been associating with Mr. McRae over the years. He always made himself available to the firefighters of Station 21, offering his complete support. Every opportunity we had to speak with him was like talking to an old friend who not only had a great sense of humor but offered great advice. His visits and support will be missed by the firefighters of Station 21. The Atlanta Buckhead area has lost one of it’s’ most dynamic personalities. To his family please accept our deepest sympathy.
