Mr. Yancy lived next door to my grandparents most of my life. I grew up with his sons and he was a great man. I will miss you Mr. Yancy. I can still hear you yelling at us to get out your garden.

I am so sorry for the family! Mr. Yancy was a fascinating man to talk with. He was well loved by the students and teachers at Lufkin. He was a true man of God and was caring, funny and full of life! I'm sorry I wasn't aware of his passing or service. I want to send his family my condolences and I truly enjoyed the stories about each of you. He was so proud of you!! God bless you all!

To the Entire Yancy Family:

May the Lord Bless you and keep you in this difficult time. Mr. Yancy was instrumental in me attending Prairie View A&M University, and for many years I would see him at PVAMU homecoming. He was truly a great man! Cherish all the great memories he leaves behind.

I met Mr. Yancy many years ago when I would go to the Extension Service for sewing lessons. He would drop by the sewing room and greet the ladies and, yes, tell us about "them boyz" too and we loved the stories. Mr. Yancy was a great blessing to Lufkin and, I believe, to all who knew him. My condolences to his family. Ellen Platt Rogers, formerly of Huntington and Lufkin.
