News Death Notice

JONES, Deacon Forace age 92, was called home on Thursday, October 31, 2013. A lifelong, faithful member and Deacon of Mount Enon Baptist Church for over 50 years. Retiree of General Motors-Delco Products and founder of The Spirit of Zion Gospel Singers. He was truly a man of God who always sang praises. He served in the U.S. Army then relocated to Dayton, Ohio and married the love of his life, his devoted wife of 58 years, Earline Marie Jones, who proceded him in death. Proceded in death by his dear and youngest son, Mark Anthony Jones, a sister, 4 brothers and beloved nephew Albert Jones. Survivors include beloved sons Royce Jones, Los Angeles, CA; Karl Jones, Allen Jones, Dayton, OH; his cherished, loving & devoted daughter Sheila Jones Bates Watts, Inglewood, CA; daughter-in-law Peggy Jones, Los Angeles, CA; 6 granddaughters Reagan Jones, Ashely Jones, Shasen Bates, Bree Jones, Tinielle Jones and SheMya Watts; great grandson Mason Neguail Woolens; brothers Austin Jones (Bessie), Dayton, Raymond Jones (Elizabeth), Atlanta, GA; special nieces Janet Jones, Regina Clay, Cynthia Miller-Cole; best friend Lee Russell Brown and dearly devoted family friend "nurse" Marchelle Ellison. Host of nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law, cousins, many loving & devoted friends. Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Friday, November 8, 2013 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church, 1501 W. To Family - Mr. Jones was a father figure for many kids at Mt. Enon, as- well-as the neighborhood in which he lived. He was a blessing and the Griggs family had great respect for him as a person and a man of God. As you move foreward without your love one. May God bless each of you w/ peace, strength and courage in your heart, minid and spirit for the days ahead. Love You All!

To the family, Deacon Jones has been a staple of Mt. Enon M.B. Church. His sense of humor and pleasant smile will be missed. He transported many members while on the Mobile ministry.
