David and Jamie,
Your Dad always meant so much to me.I only have good memories of him. No matter what he was doing he made you fell like the most important person in the world.I know God has a special place for him. My mother passed away awhile back. She lived with us at the end and would tell stories of the "gang" when she was young, which included Sonny Boy and Bonnie, she thought so much of both of them. We will keep you and your families in prayer. Tommy Sparks

I'm so sorry about your dad. I loved him so very much. My brother loved him too. He (my brother...Gordon Ray Martin.. was killed in 1970) Mr. Lou has been a very personal friend to us. My dad, Ray Martin died in Jan of 1992 and was very fond of Mr. Lou.
Mom and I loved him to death. He will be always be remembered in my heart. Mom was wanting to come to the funeral home but my son was sick. I didn't hear about it until 3 days later. He'll always be loved by his friends. He is in a better place. Thank God.
Ya'll are in our prayers,

Theresa -
From the first time I met the two of you, I thought of you as family. I have never met two kinder, caring, passionate people. I will never forget the visits at the cafe' or the conversations about New Salem, TX. The name "New Salem Girl" will forever hold a special place in my heart. Please know that I am thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. Sonny will always be in the hearts of all that ever had the opportunity of knowing him, and I for one am one of the Very Lucky ones. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call!

F.R was a very good man and will be missed by all. I remember one time when several of us were trying to form a volunteer fire department in the southern part of the county, he told me that if we every needed anything, just let him know. Farewell, My Friend.

My daddy (Lightning) worked for F.R. for many years when I was younger. I have never in my life met a more down to earth and wonderful person, especially for someone that owned a company. I can remember one time at a picnic he even offered to pay for my college he was just that kind of person. There was also a time when a really bad storm came through on one of dad's jobs blowing down the signs that had part of a road closed of course they called dad and i went along for the ride. Well dad had to fix his road signs and he gave me a flag to keep traffic where they were supposed to be and F. R. came over to me told me I was doing great but if one car didn't listen to me I was to put the flag through the windshield and make them pay attention. Believe me I would have listened to him especially since I was getting soaked from rain and we seen two tornadoes touch down during the whole event.
