Gus and I met Fortunato and Nina at Mr. Verdirame's weekly card games. We had good times together. Fortunato was the life of the party and we miss him so much. We prayed during his sickness and now he is with our Lord. We pray for Nina, the children and the grandchildren to find comfort in the fact that Fortunato was so loved and respected by many friends.

My father, Angelo Verdirame, used to deliver fresh vegetables from his Markham farm to Pirris Country Fair in the 1960s. He was at first a business associate of Mr. Fortunato and, in recent years, a close family friend. As my father became increasingly disabled the past few years, Mr. Fortunato and his wife frequently visited my parents and brought them many gifts, endless support, and many smiles. We cannot thank the Fortunato family enough for the gift of Pizzurro. He is a wonderful man and will be sorely missed.

My Father in-law was a great man! He welcomed me into his family with open arms. He always treated me as his own son. He is a perfect example of how hard work and dedication can bring you success. He was a respected man by all and a vey kind person. He will be missed by his daughter Mary-Jane, myself and his two grandsons. We know he is looking down from heaven watching over us all. He will be waiting at the gates of heaven with open arms and likely some fruit of some kind when our time comes. I leave off this message with a quote from Fortunato "To make good soup, you need an old chicken" love you Dad!

My Father In-Law was a great man. He welcomed me to his wonderful family and has always treated me as his own son. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is a true example of what hard work can get you in life. He was respected by all and treated everyone with that same respect. Dad I know you are looking down on us all from heaven and that you will be greeting us at the gates of heaven when our time comes. Miss and love you a lot. Brian
