Frances T Chamberlain, 93, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Monday May 6th, 2024 at French Manor Assisted Living. Fran was born on July 16th 1930 to Antone and Amelia Broghamer in Traverse City, MI. She attended Immaculate Conception School through 8th grade and graduated from TC High School.

In Fran's early years she worked at the Dairy Bar, in Traverse City, where she met the love of her life William D Chamberlain whom she married on September 4th, 1950. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage and she found her true passion of being a mother to her 3 children, Dale, Dean & Diane.

For many years she was the kitchen cook for the Cedar Rod and Gun Clubs well known, smelt suppers. Everyone loved her "special coleslaw".

Frances loved to cook, bake and collect recipes. She taught her family her favorites like Ham Rollups, French Toast, and Hamburgers. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, knitting and crocheting, and was proud of teaching her children and grandchildren the craft. She always gifted her knitted blankets and creations to family and friends, and her grandchildren always wore Halloween costumes made by her. Fran looked forward to her Tuesday Coffee nights with family and friends. Fran was a very giving person and always thought of others first. She often spoiled her grandchildren and great grandchildren with affection and treats.

Surviving Frances are her sons, Dale (Diane)Chamberlain of Grawn and Dean (Deb) Chamberlain of Traverse City. Grandchildren, Melissa, Shannin, Allison, Katie, Jamie, Brandon and Nichole. 13 Great Grandchildren, Landon, Emily, Kailyn, David, Tyler, Samuel, Dylan, Ellory, Lyla, Jaxon, Sawyer, Emma & Bae. Sister Bertha (Lee) Noftz of Oxford and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband and parents, her daughter Diane Larson, sister Mary Warner, brothers Fred Broghamer and Antone Broghamer.

The family would like to thank the staff of French Manor Assisted Living and Patty & Lisa of Hospice of Michigan.

A Cemetery service and celebration of Fran will be held July 16th.
