Frances Greene Cruise

Frances Greene Cruise peacefully passed away in Midlothian, Virginia on April 27, 2023 in the early morning. She was 101 1/2 years young. She said she was tired.

Frances made her home in Norfolk. A native of Norton Virginia, Frances was married 68 years to Master Chief Ralph L Cruise. She is survived by her son Ralph L. Cruise Jr. of Midlothian, Virginia and daughter Teresa Ann Cruise of Mount Dora, Florida.

Frances was a graduate of National Business College in Roanoke, Virginia where she met her husband. As a Navy family they settled in Norfolk. She was a great cook and active with her church community. She loved sewing, crafts, crossword puzzles and raising a family. As a lover of nature, she fed the squirrels and birds and seemed to have a way with the cardinals. She was active at the Ocean View Senior Center and still enjoyed square dancing with the senior twirlers well into her 80's. Known for always thinking of others her kindness rippled out to all she met. She loved Chocolate and always offered a treat to visitors.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, at 8464 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, Virginia. A graveside service will be held after visitation at 1 pm at Norfolk's Forest Lawn Cemetery.
