Frances Farrow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 20, 2022.
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of, Frances Ann (Gambino), our loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched. Frances went home to be with the Lord and she dearly departed on May 26, 2022 in her 86th year.

Loving Mother of Patricia and Paul Mydlarz, Pauline and Eric Schwartze, Drs. Linda and John Akers, and Albert Henry Farrow.

Devoted Grandmother of Eric (Robbie) and David (Ayako) Mydlarz, Meghan and Gabrielle Schwartze, Forrest Akers, and Joseph, Matthew, and Kayla Farrow. Predeceased by grandson Christopher Paul Mydlarz.

Dearest Great Grandmother of Christopher and Zachary Mydlarz.

The youngest of six children, Frances was born March 7, 1936, in Detroit, to the late Augustino and Maria (Vitale) Gambino. Survived by sisters Mamie Mirasola and Lena Salvia.

Frances was a proud graduate of Eastern High School in Detroit and following graduation worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield. While raising her family Frances worked for the Children's Home of Detroit in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She was passionate about working with children and was always there to wipe a tear, put a smile on a face, and she truly touched the hearts of those she cared for.

Frances's life passion was her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Her unconditional love and devotion was priceless. Gramma was always there to listen to a silly joke, give advice, play cards, go to the movies or a park, drop off/pick up, share recipes, spend the night, talk for hours, watch family videos, blue bloods and hallmark movies. Each grandchild knew gramma was their biggest cheerleader!

Frances was a devout Catholic and lived her life for Jesus. Her greatest gift to her family was bringing us to the Lord and sharing her faith. She belonged to numerous prayer groups, enjoyed daily prayers with Sister Angelica and evening rosary. Frances always extended a "special call" or "card", bringing a smile to those she was thinking of.

We look forward to the day we will be reunited in Heaven with our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend.

She will be dearly missed and live forever in our hearts.

Mommasetta, you were there when I came into the world and I was with you when you left. There was peace in knowing it was in GOD's perfect timing and his mercy that you were no longer suffering. I know the gates opened and you heard "Welcome home, my good and faithful one". You were the most selfless mother giving your time, energy and strength to each of us. Your greatest gift was sharing your faith with your family and friends. Thank you for helping in my walk with Jesus Christ. My eternal love, your Bimmie Boo.

I will always cherish our phone calls. We would talk (mostly her talking and me listening, but I didn´t mind one bit) about my school, something she saw that reminded her of me, or one of her memories that she would share. Her greatest gifts were the memories she would share with me about her childhood or something about my aunts and dad. I love you and will miss your company Grandma. xoxo Master Joseph Farrow.

Grandma,
You were more than a grandma to me, you were a second mom. You´ve always been my biggest supporter, no matter what. I will miss your stories, advice, and most importantly your laugh. You were the kindest soul I´ve ever met. You´ve touched the lives of everyone around you. I´m so lucky and thankful for all that you´ve taught me and done for me. I´m so happy knowing you always knew how I felt and how much I love you. You have no idea how much I will miss you.

When I think of you I remember Isaiah 40:31. I know that you are with Jesus and I am so happy you are out of suffering. If anyone on earth deserved to go to heaven, it´s you grandma. Enjoy it and do all the things we talked about over the years. I know when I walk, that you are forever by my side. Rest easy without regret, worry for us, and rest full of peace and happiness. I love you so so much, forever and always.

Grandma,
You were always my constant supporter and cheerleader. You could tell my mood by the tone of my voice, even through the phone. You were always there when I wanted a long conversation, reassurance, wisdom, guidance, support, and overwhelming encouragement. I will miss your constant support, love, acceptance, and optimism for the world. Thank you for making it clear that I was always loved and always supported. I will always cherish the time we had together. I love and miss you with all my heart.
