Frances "Fran" Harrell Eggleston

Fran was more than a Aunt-inlaw to me, she was also another mother to me. She helped show me the way to be who I am today, both as a women and as a mother. For 14 years she helped mold me. I will forever be grateful to her for everything that shes done for me and my family. I will also always be grateful for all the long talks, the shoulder to cry on, great advise and for all the laughs I know my Son will grow up knowing how wonderful she was and just how much she loved him. He was her whole world for the past 2 years. The smile on her face everytime she saw him. The love in her eyes when she talked about him and the complete Joy he gave her by just being him. I wish so much that he would have had more years to spend with her, so that he could remeber for himself just how much he meant to her. Fran, we all love you so very much and we all miss you more than words. Please watch over our family and please watch over our little man. I know you only wanted the best for your family.

I don't think of Fran as an employee at the high school because when I met her, she was a band mom. She was one of the first adults to stand out to me because I never witnessed her being judgmental. My mom was one of very few in our social circle going through a divorce at the time, and Fran was so helpful to us. She helped us feel human again! She started out as a resourceful and kind mom. After time, I got to know her as a friend. I am so grateful for our electronic communications. That is how we stayed in touch over many miles. I can't believe she is gone but I am so glad that we got to be friends. I am blessed by her. I will miss her tremendously, but I pray that she is experiencing ultimate Happiness now. I love you, Fran.

Ms. Eggleston was one of the kindest people anyone could have met. She was LHS. She greeted everyone that walked in to the counseling office with the warmest smile. Whenever you needed anything she was always willing to help or get you the help you needed. She will be greatly missed.

Glad to have known a great lady from my days in Leander High. we'll miss you.

So glad I was able to attend her funeral and hear all the wonderful expressions of love for her. She was my cousin so I had known her all her life and loved her so much. But I now realize how much her community also loved and appreciated her. God has taken another one of his greatest home to be with him. Will miss you Fran and always love you too. Just hearing her name makes me smile. No matter how busy, Fran always had time to ask about someone's day. She will be truly missed.

Fran had a loving heart, kind words and inspiring personality that stood out amongst the crowds. It is hard to picture LHS without her there.

I came to Leander High School four years ago, and Fran was one of the highlights of working there. She was ALWAYS kind, supportive, helpful, and would find out where to get info on the rare occasions when she didn't know. She was a true lady, with her beautiful manners and sweet smile. Fran was a rare gem, and I am glad I knew her. The world was a brighter place with her presence.

Mostly, I can't believe you're gone. You went above and beyond in helping the band students. I will always remember you as the first person I met when I transferred from Westwood to Leander. You helped me get all the music I needed and introduced me to everyone. You were my safety net in the 'awkward' years. I remember what a loss it was when you moved from band to the admin offices. I spent some time working for you as an office assistant and you helped get me through some tough times. You treated everyone with such kindness and we're a light in this world. I will miss coming to visit you when I'm in town. Rest easy, Fran.

I worked with Fran for several years and found her to be an amazing person. She was smart, savvy and with-it. Until we moved out of Texas we had many memorable dinners and other social gatherings with Fran and Alan. Not a week has gone by that I don't think about Fran. We will sorely miss her.

A beautiful lady with a generous heart. I met her when my children attended LHS.
She was the "go-to" person. Any question you had, she knew the answer. Fran could coordinate a College Night for over 90 college representatives and still she knew each student by name. Impressive intellect, a giving spirit, and a caring heart. We will miss you, Fran

From my first days at LHS to the day she left her desk, Mrs. Eggleston was the bright spot in the darkness, the comfort in the sadness, and the laughter in the happiness. She brought me immeasurable peace and joy and she was such a wonderful woman. I will always remember how she listened. How she stopped what she was doing, gave me a piece of candy, and patted me on the back. She praised me, consoled me, heard me and believed in me. She was this and so much more to me and to countless others. I will forever cherish my relationship with her, and forever miss her warm arms around my neck and her beautiful smile. Rest in peace, my beautiful friend. I can't wait to see you again.

Mrs. Eggleston had a personality that could turn anyone's bad day around. She will be greatly missed by myself and all of my brothers that graduated from Leander High School.

Mrs. Eggleston supported me during some of the toughest times of my life. I don't think she had any clue that she impacted my LHS experience as much as she did. She got things done and was one of the kindest people I've ever met. I will never forget her.

LHS Band Alumni will always remember Ms. Fran; she will be missed, but will stay in our hearts forever.

Fran had such a positive impact on so many at Leander High School, my two LHS alumni children are among them. Her kindness and generosity will not be forgotten. She is missed.

I remember Fran worked in the counselor's office while I attended classes at LHS. She always gave me the feeling that she actually cared about all of us (the students) and did her best to make sure we realized our potential. You'll be missed, Fran!

I never got to meet Fran face to face. We became friends on Facebook through her sister Sharon. But I will always be grateful to her because she found out that I had a family member suffering very much from cancer and this beautiful woman offered to open up her home to my cousin so she could see a doctor while there in Texas. Fran was a beautiful, beautiful soul like her sister is. Thank you, Fran for your generous offer to help a complete stranger.

Mrs. Eggleston was always extremely helpful and kind to me. I remember freaking out about getting ready for college during my senior year and it was Mrs. Eggleston who helped me iron things out and make me feel a lot more prepared for it. She helped me look for some of the scholarships that I currently have and I ended up being her office aid for the remainder of my senior year. She was such a pleasant person to be around and I always loved seeing her smiling face as I walked into the office. You will be truly missed.

Fran was always kind and helpful with both students and parents...to me she already had wings. Now it's official, she will be missed and live in the hearts of many.

Fran loved music; her work for the Leander Choir Program during my tenure was tantamount to its success. Whenever, the impossible presented itself, Mrs. Fran Eggleston found the way! Fran also always found time to take interest in my personal life and family. What a kind, loving, hard -working soul she was for our students and teachers! Rest Easy. my dear friend.--Brian Davis

Fran was a very special lady and will be dearly missed! I coordinated with her all 4 years my son was at LHS through PTSA, Swim Team, Project Grad and Volunteer events. Her patience, concern, and caring deeply about the success of individuals, programs, and LHS As a whole, was communicated through her daily actions and interactions with all. She had A BIG HEART that touched more lives than we'll ever know! My condolences to her family.

Mrs. Eggleston was one of my favorite people at Leander High School. She helped me when I found out my mom had breast cancer. Her guidance and prayers and care for not only me but for anyone she met makes this hard. She had such a generous soul it was never hard to have a conversation with her. May she rest in peace knowing she has touched at least one life.

Fran was the heart and the backbone of the Leander Band Boosters for many years. Few knew of her efforts behind the scenes to secure trip funding for some of the students. She was always on the bus for every trip. Even after her son had graduated, she continued to work with the Leander band. Fran was one of a kind and will be missed.

Fran's smile and laughter brightened the lives of all who met her. I considered her a dear friend and colleague at LHS and will miss her. My thoughts are with her family and all of those her loved her.

Fran and I were best friends for awhile in school. I have fond memories of our schoolgirl years. I lost touch with her over time but I've never forgotten her. I wish I had known her later in life as she sounds like she was an awesome woman. My condolences to her family.

Mrs. Eggleston and I shared many conversations together. I can recall only ever parting her presence, that housed a room, with uplifted spirits. She had a way of talking to you and not at you. So very wise. So very impacting. I am a better person for having known her. She taught many people, many things but my memories resound with perseverance, patience, and beautiful love. God bless you Mrs. Eggleston. May you be at peace and comfort in a place of love to look down upon all the good you did.

Mrs. Eggleston was hands down one of my favorite people during my time at Leander High School. She was the one who got me to look forward to coming to school every day senior year. She made me laugh and smile about everything while I was her student aide. She was always happy, always helping, always looking out for others. She will truly be missed in my heart!

Fran was such a dear friend. We were band moms together. She and Alan were so fun! We had a lot of laughs but also shared tears in the rough times. My prayers go out to Sharon, the rest of her family and all the friends who will miss her so much. May God give you a peace that goes beyond understanding.

I am saddened to hear of Fran's death. I knew her as a very hard working 'band mom' when my daughter was in band at Leander High School. My condolences to her Family.

She was always there for us band students. She had such an impact on so many lifes. She will be greatly missed.

Fran was one of the most amazing women I have ever known. She knew everything about Leander HS and was always ready to help anyone that needed anything at all! She took care of all the kids that came in to the counseling center just like they were her own. The angels are rejoicing in Heaven as one of their own is now home.

Having known Fran since we were in High School I will miss her wonderful smile and her kind friendship. A wonderful friend and quite a lady.

She was like a second mom to her band children at Leander High. So sad to hear of her passing. God bless her family and give them peace during this time.

She was always willing to do what she needed for her band children, and we were better because she was another extension of our friendships. She honestly was one in a million.

I had the pleasure of working with Fran at Leander High School. She was truly one of the kindest people I have ever known. She always had an ear ready to listen, and a heart open to love. She will be greatly missed.
