Frances Janes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 12, 2025.
Holland/McBain - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, Frances Irene Janes, who departed this life on December 10, 2025 surrounded by her family, at the age of 88. Frances was born on December 8, 1937 in Detroit, and throughout her life, touched the hearts of many with kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Frances married her beloved husband, Kenneth, on September 24, 1960 in Highland Park. They met while she had been working as a cashier at a local grocery store and, after her two children were born, she became a stay-at-home mother.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Patty Turner, son, Ken (Julie) Janes, grandson Ryan Janes, and brother Gerald Narkiewicz, as well as many dear friends and extended family who will forever remember the joy, wisdom, and warmth she brought into their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth Janes Sr, her sister Irene (Cookie) Struppa and her youngest brother Lawrence (Larry) Narkiewicz.

Frances found joy in doing puzzles, helping out in her community residence, and spoiling her grandson, Ryan. She would spend many days during the week walking in the halls of her apartment complex and chatting with her friends there. A celebration of life will be held in the community room at Greenbriar Apartments in Holland in January with a date yet to be determined. There will also be an interment ceremony for family and friends at Mount View Cemetery in McBain, MI in the spring. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and caretakers at Addington Place of Lakeside Vista for all their care and support throughout this journey. Though Frances is no longer with us physically, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace. The family is being served by the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain. The online obituary can be seen at burkholderfamilyfuneralhome.com
