Frances LACATE Obituary

Published by Monteal Gazette on Dec. 17, 2011.
LACATE, Frances (nee Phee)
1912 - 2011
Died peacefully, in her 100th year, at Notre Dame de la Merci, on December 13th. Frances was predeceased by her beloved partners Eric Lacate and Percy White and her son, Robert White. This "Phenomenal Woman" "...my head's not bowed, I don't shout or jump about or have to talk real loud. When you see me passing, it ought to make you proud" and mother will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Barbara (William Boudreau), Margaret (the late Robert Henderson), Lesley- Ann (the late Lloyd Elder), sons, Michael White and Eric Lacate (Linda Bourdon), sister, Grace Sutherland, and nieces and nephews. Frances was blessed with an ever increasing tribe of grandchildren, great and great-great. Her credo, Let me live in my house by the side of the road and be a friend to man, extends beyond her life. Frances chose to leave her body to the McGill Faculty of Medicine. The family will participate in McGill's next memorial service. Friends will be notified of the date. "And when I see thee hang thy head, 'Twill be my turn to watch thy bed, And tears of sweet affection shed - My mother." I'll see you in my dreams.

Hi Lesley and Matthew,

I was so sad to learn of the passing of your Mom, Frances. I loved her as a mother, in fact, she was the first person I called when Mom passed away. Gordon asked Dad about Fran, as I would have as well, and it was at this time that Dad told us she was gone.

Our sincerest condolences to you and your family. What a woman! What hootspa (sic)! I will miss Fran always.

All of our love,
Horace, Gordon and Heather Holdgate

Lesley-Ann and Eric,

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

You will not remember me, I boarded at your mom's when she lived on Delormier and you were little kids. I have nice memories and I worked with Margaret.

I am sorry I didn't keep in touch with your mom nor Margaret.

My deepest sympathy to all of you.
