Frances MANDESE Obituary

Published by TBO.com on Jan. 19, 2010.
MANDESE, Frances M., 83, beloved and adored wife, mother and "Nannie,"

entered into rest on the

wings of angels guiding her to heaven Saturday, January 16, 2010, while under hospice care. Born April 6, 1926, she was a proud Tampa native, and a graduate of Jefferson High School who worked for Hillsborough County Public Schools as a paraprofessional for more than 34 years. She touched the lives of many children throughout her long tenure and was known for being a tireless and dedicated worker. Mrs. Mandese' s greatest accomplishment however, was the love, pride and unyielding devotion she had for her family. There was never any sacrifice too great or difficult if it involved her family. She was a loyal and true friend to all who had the honor of knowing her and would never hesitate to help anyone in need of assistance. Mrs. Mandese was the "official Bingo Queen" and enjoyed her hobby to the fullest. Mrs. Mandese was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jennie Matassini; and husband of 58 years, Joseph M. Mandese. She is survived by a close and loving family, which will somehow find the strength and courage to forge ahead in her memory: beloved daughter, Mary Frances Ledo, and son-in-law, Rex D. Ledo; beloved son, Henry J. Mandese; adored grandchildren: R.J. and Joseph Ledo and Joseph and Jenna Mandese; extended relatives of the Mandese and Matassini families, including her two brothers, Pat Matassini (Dean) and Louis Matassini (Rose) and special cousin, Frances Bullara. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Gonzalez Funeral Home with a service at

7 p.m. Private graveside services will take place at a later date. "A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Blue Team at Melech Hospice House for their compassion and care and to Dr. Venkataram and his staff for the care and kindness they provided to our precious mother. We would also like to thank our wonderful family and friends who were there for us during this extremely difficult time. It is appreciated more than you will ever know." In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Melech Hospice House, 11125 N. 52nd St., Temple Terrace, Fl. 33617. Gonzalez Funeral Home
