SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Frances Mayeaux Mozingo, 82, loving wife, mother, and grandmother to three generations, passed away on November 26, 2006 after a lengthy illness.

The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home, Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 9:00 am until service time.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Rothell Price of Saint Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Interment will at follow Forest Park West Cemetery, Meriwether Road.

Frances Jacquelyn Roberson was born April 18, 1924 and grew up in Hot Springs, AR. She married Irvin Mayeaux on January 18, 1942 with whom she had three special children, Jeanne Mayeaux Patterson (Bob) of Shreveport; "Bucky" Mayeaux (Elana) and Jack Mayeaux (Sally) of Portland, OR.

Widowed at the age of 37, Frances began working to support her two young sons. She worked many years at Selber Bros. Dept. Store and was honored as Employee of the Year. She later worked at M. Levy and Rubenstiens.

In 1979 Frances was able to retire when she married James "Abbie" Mozingo. At that time she also became "Mama" and the fulltime caretaker of Abbie's daughter, Beverly Mozingo of Shreveport. The three spent happy times together until Abbie's death. Frances and Beverly continued to "take care of each other" until the last several years, when Frances' daughter Jeanne became her caretaker.

Left to cherish their "Mamaw" are Bob Pat Patterson (Gloria) and Lisa Barker of Shreveport; Lori Schneider (Tom) of Maumelle, AR; Mary Frances Archer (Mike) of Dallas; Maghen McCoy (Aaron) and Chris Mayeauz of Portland, OR; Joseph Mayeaux of Las Vegas, NV; Ginger Monds (James) and Charlene Addison (Jerry) of Shreveport; and Patti Murray (Tony) of Doyline; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Memorial donations may be made to Saint Mary of the Pines Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
