Frances Sternhagen

The Closer is one of my favorite shows. Rest In Peace "Willie Ray Johnson".

Frances Sternhagen was a true lady, who was a very quiet but humorous and talented actor who could hold her own with style and grace on either the big screen, or Television. It's times like this when we lose someone we love, that life can be not only a challenge but also difficult to bear. There is no doubt that Ms. Sternhagen, was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her personally and professionally.

May the Sternhagen family always keep treasured memories of her in your heart. And may you find comfort in knowing that God knows your pain and those who have passed on in death he keeps in his memory because they are all precious in his eyes. (Psalm 116:15).

I learned that she was an amazing actress. She played a suspenseful role in the horror movie The Mist. And she played the mother of the head of the police department on The Closer...quite a few times and she always had perfect comedy timing. I wish I knew her for more appearances. I think I remember her in Misery. I'm sure anything she was in she was great. R.I.P. Ms Sterhagen and my condolences to the family.

Frances Sternhagen was an award-winning actress on stage and screen who won Tony Awards for her work in "The Good Doctor" and "The Heiress," as well as Emmy Award nominations for her recurring roles on "Cheers" and "Sex and the City."

I will never forget her portrayal of Kyra Sedgwick's mother in The Closer. I cried when Kyra found her in bed after she died. My reaction showed me how real she had made her character seem.

It was always a pleasure to watch anything Ms. Sternhagen played in, she never disappointed. Sincere condolences to the Sternhagen family, so very sorry for your loss. May God be with you all.

The world has lost a beautiful lady and brillant actress with Frances' passing. She played many memorable characters in various films, plays, and tv series, but her acting in the Closer was outstanding. She will be remembered as one of the BEST performers we admired. AJ
