Fran was a wonderful person. We were friends back in the Bronx when we were both kids I remember her passion for life, friends and her horses. The world is smaller without her!!!!!!!

I have been searching for many years. We went to Mt Ida College together and became good friends and after college we were roommates in Boston for a couple of years. She was always so kind, considerate and so much fun - we would get so silly way back then (1965). My search brought me to tears to think I found her but too late. She was very special to me - I will pass this on to some of our former pals. God Bless you Franny (that is what we called her many yrs. ago).

I just learned of Fran's passing today. My condolences to her family. We met as teenagers at Pelham Bridge Stables near City Island where we learned to ride jumping horses from the best horsemen of the era, Carl Knee and Benny O'Meara. Carl's best horse at the time was an unbroken two year old horse named Pillow Talk (photo attached) who had never been ridden. Fran was the first person to ride him and eventually showed him. He was a beautiful horse and with her in the irons they made a striking pair.

Her emails over the years were always warmly received as were her phone calls in September when we shared a birthday just 6 days apart. She was a dear and loyal friend and I will miss her.

Fran was a joy to have as my neighbor diagonal across the street on Sunset Drive and we are sad to hear of her loss. We missed her as soon as she moved for her quick wit and political discussions and her kindness and life wisdom paired with refreshing honesty. She was glad to move closer to "her girls." She was a gem and we honored we knew her and called her a friend.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Francia. We were neighbors on the floor and I stopped by to welcome her when she moved in. She was delightful and invited me in to see her new apartment. Unfortunately, I was unaware of how sick she was and of her passing since I was caring for my brother, who passed away just before Fran.

Thank you for sharing such lovely reflections on her extraordinary life. I'm sorry I did not have more time to know her. May she rest in peace.

If there is anything I can do, don't hesitate to ask. Sincerely, Kathleen Keefe

Love and hugs to your girls. I know she was a special lady and you were all lucky to have each other.
I know Anita will welcome her with open arms. XO
