Francis Botte Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 20, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Francis A. Botte, of Framingham on March 15, 2025. Born in Arlington on February 4, 1961, to the late Francis A. Botte and Ghislaine M. (Lefebvre). Beloved husband of 30 years to Gina M. (Setterlund) Botte. Loving and devoted father of Francis Botte of Boca Raton, FL, Gianna, Alexis, and Katelyn Botte, all of Framingham. Brother of Jacqueline Massaro of Billerica, Margaret Frazier, and Anne- Marie Hislop, both of Tyngsboro. Brother-in-Law of Dennis and Kenneth Setterlund both of Holden, MA. Son-in-Law of Lowell and Barbara Curtis both of Holden, MA. Further survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was dedicated to his career working as Vice President of Debt and Treasury at Boston University for 35 years.

Fran was known for being a pillar of strength, a steady foundation, and the one they could always count on. Simply put, Fran was everything to everyone, lighting up every room he stepped into. He found joy in spending time with his family and dog of 13.5 years, Koby. He also enjoyed watching Boston's sports teams, throwing the football at the beach, vacationing in Newport, RI, and hosting everyone for the Holidays. His wisdom and guidance will be dearly missed by everyone who knows him.

Fran's legacy of love, education, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all he touched.

Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St. Arlington, on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4 - 8 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated in Marsh Chapel at Boston University, on Saturday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Please go directly to the church. Services will conclude with burial in Newton Cemetery.

A celebration of life lunch will immediately follow Fran's burial. Hosted by and located at Boston University. Please go to the 17th floor of the Computing & Data Sciences Building.
