Francis Cadinha Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 7, 2025.
Ventura - It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear husband, dad, and grandpa, Francis Cadinha, on October 7th.

Born on March 2nd, 1929 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Louis and Marie Cadinha, Frank graduated from Black Fox Military School before pursuing higher education at various institutions in California. In 1953, he made California his permanent home and that same year, he married Dorothea Ponte. Together, they raised three children. In 1981, he found his soulmate in Marilyn Wise, welcoming her four children into his life.

Frank and Marilyn shared a wonderful life together, filled with shared hobbies, travels, cruises, camping adventures, and summer trips to "R" Ranch in the sequoias, creating cherished memories with their children, grandchildren, and friends. Frank continued to enjoy hunting, fishing, and scuba diving well into his later years.

A civil engineer by profession, Frank worked at Raytheon and later at Point Mugu.

Frank is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Alan Cadinha, daughter June Connolly (Brian), stepdaughters Kathy Gutierrez (Alex), Karen Kurtz (Mark), stepson, Kenny Wise (Heather), and 10 grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents, sister, daughter Gail, and stepson Kevin.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Vicki Eldridge and Patty Monahan, the devoted caregivers, along with the compassionate team at Pacific Crest Hospice, for their exceptional care and love towards our dad.

Frank will be deeply missed, his trademark "give me love" as he pulled you into his arms for a hug fondly remembered, his spirit and the love he shared with those around him will live on in our hearts forever.

A private burial is planned. Contact Kathy (805) 320-5710 for information.
