FRANCIS M. CONNOLLY

1928 - 2016

CONNOLLY, Francis M. 88, of Norwood, formerly of Brookline, passed away peacefully at home, on November 2, 2016. Son of the late Michael F. and Mary L. (Gallagher) Connolly. Beloved husband of Mary L. (Quinton) Connolly. Devoted father of Michael F. Connolly of Norwood, Paula G. Glossa and her husband John, and Terrence J. Connolly and his wife Lori all of Walpole, and Brenda E. Usina and her husband Stephen of Fort Mill, SC. Loving grandfather of Mary Kate, Michael Patrick, Hannah, Harrison, Christopher, and Kaitlyn. Loving brother of Patricia Martin of Westwood, and the late Mae Ganey, Jamsie Connolly, and Ann Thompson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Francis served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 - 1954 as a 1st Lieutenant. He earned his BS in Business from Boston College in 1951 and retired as Director of Sales for New England Life Insurance Co. in 1989. After retirement he worked 15 more years as a consultant for New England Life. He also served as the Chairman of the Norwood Conservation Commission. Francis was an avid golfer and long time member of Wampatuck Country Club. Francis enjoyed his 23 years of traveling to Ireland with his wife, children and grandchildren. He had a passion for reading, gardening and life. Funeral Monday November 7 from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt. 1A), NORWOOD, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy's Church, Norwood at 10. Visiting hours Sunday 2 - 6. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
