Best wishes to the family. I seem to have missed both the obituaries of this long time acquaintance and wife until now. Both very fine persons and a gift to the neighborhood where I once lived.

On behalf of the Marion Vinson Gibbons family, Jack and Robert express their heartfelt condolences to Uncle Frank's family. As long as we can remember, Uncle Frank's love for the gospel and for his family heritage has been truly inspirational. I (Robert, or Bobby as he called me) lived in parts of South America where Elder Gibbons had served and to this day, his name is held in the highest regard by the church members there. His books on our family and on the latter-day prophets are much studied and appreciated. We will miss him sorely.

Ruth,

I was sorry to hear of your father's passing. As Liz McConkie would say, "Welcome to the orphans club."
I loved your parents very much. I remember your dad most as a Stake President. I enjoyed Stake Conference and the advice that he gave to all of us. And who wouldn't love to cozy up and read one of his books?
My best wishes to you and your family at this tender time.

Mark

I wish to express my condolences on the passing of your father. I have an idea of how much he meant to you as you spoke of him during your days at PRI. I pray that your family will find peace through their faith in Heavenly Father's plan of happiness and in the sweet influence of the Holy Spirit.

To my friend Ruth, your dad and mom were amazing. As you know, I have a great love for all the Yalecrest Ward bishops. When your dad was the stake president, my parents and I attended the Washington DC Temple dedication, which was at the end of my mission. We saw your dad in the temple, following the dedication, and he released me from my mission. My parents probably preferred that he release me when we returned home from driving from DC to Utah--since by being released, I was able to listen to John Denver songs all the way home. The Gibbons are like family. May the Lord continue to bless each of you. Sherm Smith

So sorry for the loss of Bro. Gibbons. I did not know him, but I owe him a debt of gratitude for his book on the Prophet Joseph Smith. I read it while I was serving a mission in the mid to late seventies, and it bolstered my testimony of the Prophet. I thank him, and your family.

Uncle Frank was always kind to a noisy little niece. He answered my question, even when, as a guide on Temple Square with a large group of investigators, I asked him "Uncle Frank, where did you learn all of that stuff?" I loved being in his home with the cousins, Suzie, Mark, Ruth and Dan. He was so nice to his mother, "Nana". His example of goodness, service and enduring to the end will always stay with me. Love to all!
