Francis Emma "Fran" Henwood

Francis Emma Henwood (née Conroy), affectionately known as Fran, age 76, peacefully passed away on March 1, 2024, in Acton, MA. Born on February 13, 1948, in Everette, MA, Fran's life was marked by her sharp wit, bright intellect, and unwavering work ethic. Her personal faith was a guiding light, along with her profound love for family and friends.

Fran carried her warmth and hospitality into her professional life, where she dedicated many years to the service industry. Her career in waitressing allowed her to touch the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and care.

A true matriarch, Fran's legacy lives on through her beloved family. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Henwood) Cruz and spouse Joe; son, Joseph Henwood and spouse Kim; cherished grandchildren, Jeremy, Torin, and Lily; adored great-grandchildren, Kylie and Sofia; and her dear sister, Sheila Warner alongside her partner Bill Miller. Fran's absence will also be felt by her numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Francis Eleanor (Scanlon) Conroy and Joseph Lawrence Conroy, and her sister, Margarette (Conroy) Mcclelland, known affectionately as Aunt Peggy.

Fran's interests included an avid collection of antiques and knickknacks, and a fondness for a warm cup of coffee. She will be remembered as a woman who could light up a room with her humor and who held a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.

Per Fran's explicit request, traditional funeral services will be foregone. A private celebration of her life will be organized for the family at a later date. The Henwood family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lifecare of Acton, MA, for their exceptional care and support.
