FRANCIS MULLEN Obituary

MULLEN, Francis J. Jr. (76) of East Bridgewater, MA passed on October 5, 2016 suddenly at the Brockton Hospital. Son of the late Francis J. Mullen and the late Mrs. Eleanor F. (Cudihy) Mullen, formerly from Marblehead Neck and Falmouth. Beloved brother to the late Janet A. (Mullen) Bonanno and the late David T. Mullen. Frank is survived by his sister-in-law Patricia (Lustiber) Mullen, and his former brother-in-law Charles D. Bonanno of Palm Beach, FL and Gloucester, MA, whom he remained close. Frank was the devoted uncle to Charles Bonanno, Stephen Bonanno, Allison Bonanno, Heather Mullen and her husband Michael Leathem, and his grand nephew Kaelan David Leathem. Frank served honorably in the U.S. Army. Frank received a B.A. in liberal arts from Merrimack College, a Master's Degree from Duke University and was awarded a full scholarship for the Doctoral Degree Program at Brandeis University. Frank learned to read and write several languages including Russian, Gaelic, and basic Standard Mandarin. Frank was known for his kind devotion to family and dedication to the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Visiting hours will take place on Thursday October 13, 2016 from 4 to 7PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01970. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday October 14, 2016 at 11 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, MA. Guests are asked to meet directly at the church.
