Francis P. "Frank" Mullen, age 92, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Lakeshore Inn in Waseca, Minnesota.He was born January 25, 1917, Stockton, MN, and was the son of Frank J. and Sara (Madland) Mullen. He was a longtime, well known resident of Waseca. He attended school in Winona, MN and as a WWII veteran, served in the 9th armored division of the US Army in Belgium and Germany. After the war, he came to Waseca to work for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. After retirement from the C and NW, he worked for Connors Plumbing and Heating and then continued on as local handyman. Frank married Bernice Hackman on November 29, 1945, at St. Francis of Assisi in Rochester. He was master of common sense, an avid fisherman, and lucky at cards. He also provided each of his sons with a guitar and expected them to use it.He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom Mullen (Carla) of Waseca, MN, Mike (Diane) Mullen of Eagan, MN, and Rick (Ann) Mullen, of Williamsport, TN.; in addition to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Ellen Berry, Stockton, MN, and Marion Whestone, also of Stockton, MN; and two brothers, Sylvester Mullen, of Winona, MN, and Bernard Mullen, of Stockton, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice Hackman Mullen; one brother, Gordon Mullen; and two sisters, Marge Hogan and Rose Hackman.Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Monday, April 13, 2009, from 5-8 PM with a 7:30 p.m. evening prayer service and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.Funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
