Francis Oefelein Obituary
Francis H. "Frank" Oefelein, 86, of Longview, went to be with his Lord on February 6, 2008.
At Frank's request, he will be cremated, and no services will be held.
Mr. Oefelein was born January 5, 1922, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was a registered professional petroleum engineer and had retired in 1983 after working for Chevron Oil for 30 years. He spent 10 of those years working in the Middle East and Far East.
Frank was an avid golfer, and during college, he was on the Long Beach City College and briefly on the University of Southern California golf teams. He was a life member of Longview Masonic Lodge No. 404 and was a former member of the Sharon Temple Shrine of Tyler.
He is survived by his son, David Oefelein and wife, Vicki of Denton.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 3100 Stamford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103.
