FRANCIS H SAMPSON

Francis "Frank" Harold Sampson
Born October 29, 1912, in Louisdale, Cape Breton, Canada, to Mary (Devereaux) & Edward Sampson.

Immigrated to the United States at the age of nine, settling with his family and eight siblings in Malden, Mass.

He died on February 5, 2012 at his home with hospice in attendance.

He leaves his beloved wife of 72 years, Edith R. Sampson, of Venice, Florida, 34293.

He leaves four daughters; Brenda, S. Robinson of Kennebunk, Maine, Marcia J. Karasoff, of Atlantis, Florida, Deborah A. Sampson of Hancock, New Hampshire, and Elizabeth A. Mettler-Ptacek, of Venice, Florida.

His grandchildren include Mark Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Michael Karasoff, and Amy Mix-Jones. Mr. Sampson also had four great-grandchildren: Benjamin Robinson, Max Robinson, Ethan Mix, and Elizabeth (Misner) Wright.

Mr. Sampson moved to venice in 1978 from Bedford, New Hampshire. For many years he worked for Pyrofax Gas and owned his own appliance business in Billerica, Massachusetts. He retired from Texas Eastern.

Frank Sampson was a caring and compassionate person. He was well-respected by his colleagues and customers in his business endeavors. He had a willing hand to lend for any project. His kindness and consideration were traits that emanated from his heritage in Canada.

Funeral arrangements are with National Cremation & Burial Society, Sarasota, FL.

Private services will be held at a later date.
