FRANCIS J., Jan. 8, 2010, 97, of East Falls, Caracus, Venezuela and Pompano Beach. Survived by 8 nieces and nephews; Dr. George Kern IV, Frances Kern Krausman, Dr. William Shea Jr., Dr. Elizabeth Shea-Clement, Francis M. Shea II, Margaret Shea-Albano Esq., Mary Louise Shea-Martinez and John D. Shea Esq. Also survived by 23 great nieces and nephews and 2 close cousins Elizabeth Harem and Bernie Hamilton. Francis was preceded in death by his brother William J. Shea and his 2 sisters Catherine Kern and Margaret Shea. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing at THE McILVAINE FUNERAL HOME, 3711 Midvale Ave., Phila. PA 19129 on Sat., Jan. 16th, 8:30-9:30 A.M. followed by his Mass of Christian Burial, 10 A.M. at the Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, 18th St. and Benjamin Franklin Pkwy. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. For those desiring, donations in Francis' memory may be sent to Mission Helpers of the Sacred Heart, 1001 West Joppa Rd., Baltimore, MD 21204.

A great, 97 year, old person has left this earth--dynamic and independent until the end. Francis was of remarkable intelligence with a caring and most humble nature. He made a positive difference in many of our lives. We will miss Francis greatly, but he will always be in our memories.
