Prof. Francis Michael Longstreth THOMPSON CBE FBA

I miss Michael though I have not seen him for ages. He was the model historian who would at least consider the most unlikely claims if one persisted long enough. I would never have had my limited success if it had not been for him at the Institute.

My condolences to dear Anne and family for accompanying a most gifted, humorous man through a long most productive life.
