FRANCK LARAQUE

I have the honor of meeting Professor Frank Laraque in numerous occasions during my days as student leader in CUNY. Professor Laraque along with other CUNY faculties organized several educational symposium during the era preceding the major Haitian Demonstration against FDA and CDC. A very insightful, competent yet down to earth man who possessed the arts to break down difficult contents in the most simplistic approach. A man with the gift of the arts of teaching. My deepest regrets, and sincere condolences to his family.

In 1984 I attended the NEH Institute taught by Renée Waldinger and Franck Laraque. I thought of Franck today after President Trump maligned the Haitian community. It was my honor to have learned about Haiti from Dr. Laraque

Prof. Laraque was ne of my favorite teachers at City College. I took 3 courses with him. My condolences to his family.

I was a colleague for many years of Professor Franck Laraque at the City College of New York. In fact, when Franck retired he gave me his office which I still occupy.
Our deepest condolences on Franck's recent passing. I just thought of him last weekend and planned to call this weekend before I found out the news from a Haitian cab driver this morning.
We had been colleagues for many years at CCNY where your grandfather was a very highly esteemed, progressive professor and community activist. Franck left a great void at the college but of course everyone wished him all the best in his well-deserved retirement and move to Colorado. Our sincere sympathy to you and all of the family.

Franck was a good grandfather and friend. We are happy for the time that we spent with him and the things that we have learned from his life. His memory will be kept alive in our hearts and in the actions of our lives. He will be greatly missed.

We are deeply saddened by Franck's passing. He was very dear and special to us. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his son Grégor and his partner Michelle, his daughter Michele, her children and their families, and the children of Marie Héléne and their families.
