Frank APPLEBY

a good man. he will be missed I know.

Thoughts go out to Dorothy and her family on behalf of my mother Jean Barton (Nee Goodwin) cousin of Dorothy in Macclesfield, England.
I met Frank while over in South Athabasca in 1980 and remember as a young man having a conversation with Frank at Stan and Marion Goodwin's place. It was a pleasure to have met him. Peter Barton. England

Frank was a fine gentleman and an esteemed colleague in the Legislature. I send my kindest regards to Dorothy and family.

I am thankful for the support Frank made to the profession of forestry. The Frank Appleby award will keep his memory alive. My condolences.

We were saddened to hear of Frank's recent passing and offer sincere condolences to Dorothy, family and friends. Frank was truly a 'friend' of forestry and always took the time to stay active and supportive of the regulated forestry profession. His service to the College of Alberta Professional Foresters (then Alberta Registered Professional Foresters Association)in the early days of its establishment as a self-regulated profession were invaluable. He served as our first public member on the governing Council and was named as an Honourary Member upon 'retirement'. The top award of the College is named in his honour. We will always fondly remember Frank as a true friend of forestry and the forest sector.

Pat & Dave's Hunter cabin at Baptiste Lake was such a meaningful part of my childhood. Now I end my career at the College of Alberta Professional Foresters. So nice to have seen Frank at the Athabasca Town centenary celebration.

Frank Appleby, thank you for being the kind, caring, thoughtful mentor to all of us who had the privilege of knowing you.
You will be missed.

I would like to say thank you to Frank, Dorothy, Brian and all the Appleby family that played such an important part of my life growing up at Baptiste Lake and playing sports in junior and senior high school. I have many good memories from this time and I know that these experiences helped me become a better person. May all your good memories help you during this difficult time.

Fondly remembering Frank and you Dorothy. I recall the nomination meeting when the sound system left me whispering to the many hundreds welcoming Frank on for another run at the Legislature!!

I will always remember Frank fondly for his involvement in the community, especially around the Nancy Appleby Theatre, most specifically when he performed our wedding service as a JP nearly 30 years ago. He is well remembered and will be missed.

Thinking of you Dorothy and remembering the many coffees we enjoyed at the Happy Gardens. I considered traveling back for Frank's 100th but was not able.

We are thinking of you , Dorothy, and pray the peace of God upon you at this time.

It was amazing that I got to interview Frank and you before his 100th birthday. He was a remarkable man and remembered many stories about his time at the legislature. He was someone who was justifiably proud of the things he accomplished. What a great life!

Please accept my deepest condolences on Frank's passing. What a remarkable life of 101 years! He was a good man and I really enjoyed working with him as MLA neighbours and in the Alberta Legislature. Dorothy was Frank's best friend and confidant...our payers are with you!

Brian, My sincere condolences to you and your family. I remember your Dad with fondness and memories of his lumber truck parked by your home on 71 Street. You were always so excited when your Dad arrived home. May he rest in peace
