Frank Arthur Wagner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 23, 2024.
Frank Arthur Wagner, prominent architect in Grand Junction, age 92, passed away on July 10, 2024.

Frank was born on February 28, 1932 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence and Julia Wagner. He met the love of his life, Mary Catherine McGonnell, at the young age of 16, and they married on August 30, 1952. They were fortunate enough to spend 69 loving years together.

A proud alumni of Penn State University, he then spent 60 years as an accomplished architect designing Grand Junction City Hall, the Wellington buildings, Community Hospital, numerous schools District 50 and District 51, the Salvation Army, and various churches among other designs.

Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, being a contributing member to our community, serving on several different boards and committees. And was a Paul Harris fellow with a Grand Junction Rotary Club for nearly 50 years.

He enjoyed most sports, particularly golf ,biking, and skiing and in his later years boxing. At the age of 68, he successfully rode his bike across the country (Colorado to Pennsylvania) to attend his 50th High School class reunion. He will be remembered for how loving, devoted, hardworking, and genuine he was.

Frank lived an adventurous, love-filled life with his family: Mary, their children: Frank (Jan), Jeffery, Marc (Joy), and Stephanie (Steve); his nine grandchildren; and his eleven great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction, Colorado at 11:00 A.M.
