Frank Brandt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 19 to Jul. 22, 2008.
Frank Dewey Brandt, 65, of Wenatchee, WA, entered into rest July 17, 2008, in a car accident on his way to a Late Model Stock Car Race in Kalispell, MT. He lived in Wenatchee for 62 years. Frank was born on March 19, 1943, in Bremerton, WA to Carl and Jewell Brandt of Wenatchee. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1961. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1966. Frank worked as a teamster truck driver for 38 years. Some of the projects he worked on were the North Cascade Highway, Rock Island Dam, Grand Coulee Dam and Chief Joseph Dam. He also worked for many years at Morrill Asphalt, Goodfellow's Construction, Scarsala and Mitchell's Paving. Frank was a master mechanic and was known for being able to work on anything. He retired in 2004. Frank's hobbies included fishing and hunting, but his passions were stock car racing and motorcycles. He built and owned stock cars for almost 30 years, and competed on almost every level of the sport. He also built his own custom Harley in the comfort of his own living room and the finished product turned out to be a show bike for him. Frank had a great love for life and enjoyed many close friendships. He was very active and always willing to help his friends and family. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs, Beau and Wolf. The family would like to thank all who touched our Dad's life. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include his mother, Jewell Brandt of Wenatchee; his sisters and their husbands, Bernice and Lyle Allstot of Wenatchee and Cleta and Ewell Jeffery of Wenatchee; his children, Jackie and Joe Gerber of Sammamish, Frank and Jenni Brandt of Puyallup, Tracy Brandt of Wenatchee, Travis and Noelle Brandt of Wenatchee and Jason and Shelly Fox of Arkansas; grandchildren include Stephanie, Kaitlin, Isaiah, Ryan, Ali, Christian, Michaella, Carl, Sarah, Frankie, Destinee and Christan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy; sons, James Leonard Brandt and Jeffery Fox; and his father, Carl D. Brandt. A Memorial Service is planned for Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Assembly of God, 19 McElmurry Lane, East Wenatchee, WA, followed by a Graveside Service at Wenatchee City Cemetery and a reception at the Rotary Park on Western Avenue in Wenatchee. There will be a Visitation on Monday, July 21, 2008, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Jones & Jones ~ Betts Funeral Home, Wenatchee.
