BRUNS
Frank P. Bruns, Jr., 72, of Cold Spring, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his home. He was a retired Assistant Superintendent of Newport Independent Schools and also was a former Principal at Bellevue High School. He was a member of the Optimist Club and Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife, Flo Ann Bruns; son, Bradley (Julie) Bruns; daughter, Beverly (Michael) Reister; grandsons, Samuel and Clayton Reister; granddaughters, Caroline Reister, Ava,Emily and Molly Bruns; brother, John "Jay" (Angelique) Bruns; nephew, Marc Bruns and niece, Monica Howard. Visitation 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 S. Ft. Thomas Ave., Ft. Thomas with services following at 7:00 pm. Burial 10:00 am on Thursday, Dec. 12 at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, KY. Memorials are suggested to Big Stef, Inc., PO Box 1844, Newport, KY 41071 or Wood Hudson Cancer Research Lab, 931 Isabella St., Newport, KY 41071. Online condolences to www.dmefuneral.com

I have such fond memories of Frank during my years growing up in Bellevue and working with Him at Bellevue High School. Admiration and Respect come to mind when thinking about Frank. He so loved his hometown! He will be missed!

We are sorry to hear that Frank has died but he was sick for such a long time but carried on such a terrific fight against his illness. We will miss him in Florida and kidding him about Kentucky basketball!

A prince of a man who could connect and be a friend to anyone. He was an icon at Bermuda Bay in Naples, Florida where we are blessed to be his neighbors upstairs. His spirit will continue to be felt there. He faced his illness with courage and confidence, always knowing, the best is yet to be!
