It has been years since I last saw Frank, but I remember times spent with him in the kitchens of the family restaurants like they were just yesterday. He was like having a big brother/best uncle always looking after me. I remember the days in the Arlington dinning room at the end of a hard day, after the parents went home, the Duranti kids would clean up while jamming out to the song One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer. I will indeed have one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer in memory of a very special human being and reflect back on how he touched me and so many others in too short of a life.

To the Duranti family - I just heard the very sad news about Frank's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of working at the restaurant and going to Penguins games with Frank, Maria and and other Duranti kids. Frank was such a wonderful person and I'm sure will be missed greatly. My thoughts are with you during this time of sorrow.

Dudley and I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Duranti family. We fondly remember Frank from Edgewood School (I graduated with Frank, Dudley the year prior) and again from our Mt. Lebanon community. Just last July 4th we introduced our grand daughters to Frank inside the firehouse !
We will miss Frank at the annual Mt. Lebanon Chili Cook Off where he proudly represented the firefighters and they often won over the police department recipe. Super bragging rights!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

I extend my deepest sympathies on behalf of the Wissler family. Dad always spoke so highly of Frank. Having escorted mom to several fire department dinners after he passed, I myself know Frank was a hard working and genuinely good man. I know dad was waiting for his brother with open arms as he entered the gates of heaven.
Peace be with you all Duranti family.

Worked many years with Franco at Edgewood Fire Dept. He was one of the hardest workers I ever meant between the restaurant, Church and the FD, but always found time for you if you needed him. My mother actually worked for Franco's dad, Frank Sr. when he owned Rogers in Wilkinsburg. Franco is gone in spirit but will never be forgotten. R.I.P. Franco. Prayers to the family.

I was very saddened to hear of Franks passing. I knew he was ill, but not to the extent that he was or how long he battled. I have nothing but good memories; I was fortunate to have had the opportunity for him to be part of my life.
I see many comments about Frank's abilities in business, cooking, firefighting, and being an overall great guy, which he was! But oddly enough, after spending so many years with him knee deep in stuffed chicken breasts and pork chops, I remember his hockey skills. I spent time at quite a few late night sessions at the old Monroeville Mall skating rink, watching him hone his skills. He got quite good! Crosby would have been proud
To Julia and the boys, Sophea, Chris, Lynn, George, Maria, Theodora and Pam; your children and grandchildren, please accept my deepest sympathies. Frank was a great man from a family of great people.

From my experience with Frank he's always been nothing less than a true gentleman, good friend, willing servant for his community, and great example of the concept of Brotherhood in the fire service.
Even while struggling with illness Frank served many needs for the function of the Mount Lebanon Fire Department, all with his Super Mario smile lighting up the room.
While I'm no longer an active member of the fire department I know his shoes will be very difficult to fill. If for no other reason than his active involvement in numerous functions and not just a single task.
While I wish the need wasn't there, I hope our department's participation during Frank's funeral service will be at least a small indication of the love an appreciation we all hold for this Brother.

My sincere sympathy to the entire Duranti family on behalf of the Daverio family from Edgewood. We attended St. James Church and often I recall seeing the family at mass. Frank was a friend and classmate who I had the privilege of knowing through our school years together. It was so like Frank to devote so much of his time to his community and friends. Blessings to you all as you move on in the days ahead.

My sincerest sympathies go to your family. May you find comfort and peace in God's loving arms during this difficult time of grief. (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17)

Beloved Duranti Family,
I was very sad to hear about the passing of Frank. As y'all know my four kids and I loved him very much. We will always remember the "grey station wagon", which he loaned to me and the kids to take our summer trips when they were young.
Frank had that gift of a gentle sprit, and the simplicity of character, which was quite prevalent in the mid 50s, but is - unfortunately difficult find today. I will offer my poor prayers to God for his precious soul, as well as entreat our Lord to comfort all of y'all.
Much love and prayers in Christ,
+Fr. Demetri (aka +Fr. Jim)
