I worked with Penny for about 5 years voicing and producing commercials for his black rodeos in Tx,La,Ms, and Ark. With my home in Tn and his in Tx..we never met in person..but we developed a mutual friendship over the years...and a true mutual respect for one another. We produced our last 2 commercials this year before he got too ill to continue. He would always say the same thing before I produced each spot. Mitch, this one has to really pop!. If the mix was not right he could hear it immediately. I will truly miss my phone conversations with him throughout the year. God bless you my friend..Frank Penny Edwards!!

Penny will be truly missed he was a God sent man and had nothing but love in his heart and loved everyone, he was an inspiration to our choir overton community choir my mom(Mrs. Vera) loved her some Penny, so now they are trying to start a heavenly choir in heaven. Shirley may you and your family find comfort in knowing that he's ok and playing for someone in heaven and making their day he always had that beautiful smile that could light up the world praying for you guys in this time of lost always remember the good times and cherish the memories

My condolences to the Edwards family. It's ok to cry you're only apart to meet again, happy days are coming so smile joy comes in the morning. Penny and join Church at the same time at an early age and baptized too.we was in the Jr Choir together, and classmates. He always kept a smile on our face, you can say that he was a class clown. We thank you Mr. Penny and Mrs. Shirley for being a mentor in music to our grandson Anthony D. Irving and many others.
You became a part of Anthonys life at seven years old learning to play drums. Then you gave him a place at Mason Springs Baptist Church as a Junior Drummer to a Senior Drummer. He is beginning his life in music and in College because you saw something in him, thank you. You shall not be forgotten in our lives and we will miss you.
Without people like you this world would not move forward, God made you to hold this position of which you worked well.

My heart is heavy as I read the paper this morning! Although, I have not seen Frank in years, I think about him when I hear Juneteenth Rodeo. He was such a joy to work with! He was so passionate about his God, his family, and his Juneteenth Rodeo. When I met Frank I was working at Coco Cola, and was fortunate to have our company help sponsor Franks dream. His smile and his laugh were contagious, and am sure he brought so much joy to many people! My sympathy to you Shirley and your family!

Three weeks ago Penny came by the house and ask if I would ride him around on the place and look at the cows and Brahman bull that I bought from him, we had a great visit, and looking back it seems now, that was his way of saying Goodbye! Penny was a good friend and will be missed by many.
