Frank Hill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 20, 2026.
MUNCIE - Frank D. Hill passed away peacefully at Westminster the evening of March 15, 2026. His wife and daughters gathered around him for his passing.

He was born on January 3, 1944, in Stearns, Kentucky, to Elmer and Lola (Crabtree) Hill. Frank was the youngest son of seven children and moved to Muncie with his family as a young boy of 6 years old. Frank was a graduate of Muncie Central High School, class of 1964 and a proud Bearcat. He loved Bearcat basketball. He retired from General Motors. He primarily worked in skilled trades both in Muncie and Kokomo. He earned additional income through rental properties. This connected him with less fortunate individuals in the community which he had a heart for.

In Frank's younger years, he enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and basketball. Later in life, he frequently could be found on Elks golf course. Along with his wife of 58 years, he enjoyed watching his 7 grandchildren play sports and other activities.

Frank was a fighter and loved deeply. He cherished his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald Hill, Bobby Hill and Dorman Hill; sisters Charlene Mays and Geraldine Cox. Those left to toast his memory would include his wife Barbara (Knisley), two daughters Kim (Kris) Mace and Kelli (Joe) Bales; seven grandchildren Taylor Baugh, Jacob (Mariah) Bales, Kellise Steed, Samuel (Addison Linegar) Bales, Margaret Bales, Jack Mace and Rylee Mace, two beloved great grandsons Daniel and Andrew Bales; and his baby sister Phyllis Stout. He loved friends as deeply as his family.

The family welcomes friends for a casual calling to celebrate his life at Willow Lake Community Club House 1501N. Morrison, Muncie, Saturday, April18, 2026 2-4 pm.
