Always loved Chip’s beatnik slang; eyes were ‘peepers’, shoes were ‘pad covers’ and lots more!
Gone but not forgotten, daddio!

Gathering to say our goodbyes;
We celebrated your legacy of love;
The twinkle of your eye can never be forgotten;
Your nature blanketed us each with a wave of joy;
The memory of your gentle voice floats in time;
May God join the space between your place and mine.
Prayers of healing to the Jackson Family...

I looked at pictures today taken at Christmas 1980. We all were out on the boat while Jack & Chip were fishing. I watched a colorful trigger fish take the bait but elude capture for a very long time. The fish finally succumbed to Chip's line and as he was being taken off the hook, someone snapped the picture of me about to beg for the fish's pardon. Chip laughed and over the side went the fish, who didn't return! I remember that day and that laugh as if it were yesterday.

From too much love of living,
From hope and fear set free,
We thank with brief thanksgiving
Whatever gods may be
That no man lives forever,
That dead men rise up never;
That even the weariest river
Winds somewhere safe to sea.
