Frank Palm Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 7, 2025.
Frank C. Palm, aged 79, passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Loretta Palm, and by his siblings: Darrel, Dwaine, Jerry, and Catherine.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alyce, and their children: Deborah, Gena (Shane), Elizabeth, Janelle (Evan), and John (Krystal). He was a proud grandfather to Kristy (Adam), Jana, Jake, Amanda, Joey (Domenik), Jesse (Amy), Dawson, Jordan, Brandon, Brittney, Brianna (Chad), Kayla, Ellie, William, Landon, and Isabella, and a great-grandfather to 11 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings: Mike, Sherry (his twin sister), John, Susan, and Curt.

Frank was born on April 3, 1946, in Minneapolis, the seventh of ten children, and attended Robbinsdale High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Alyce, in 1965, and went on to raise their five children in Osseo.

He worked at a variety of companies over the years, including Control Data in Bloomington and United Telephone in Osseo, but spent the majority of his career working for the Osseo Area School District.

He excelled in sports, including hockey, softball, gymnastics, and tennis. In later years, he enjoyed playing golf with his family. He spent countless hours teaching and coaching his children in softball, tennis, and baseball. He truly loved watching them play and compete. He also coached a high school-aged hockey team through the local park and recreation league, leading them to a championship.

He was an incredibly talented artist - he could draw, paint, and craft many beautiful things from wood, including furniture and cabinetry. He also loved making jewelry in his younger years and selling it at arts & crafts shows.

A devout Christian, faith in Jesus Christ and family were the most important parts of his life. He enjoyed the occasional weekend of fishing or ice fishing with his brothers, and sometimes went duck hunting, but the place he loved the most was the family cabin on Lake Bertha. Over the years, he spent countless hours there fishing, boating, looking for arrowheads and agates, pulling his kids-and later his grandkids-on water skis and tubes, and enjoying time with family. In his later years, he retired there, enjoying the place he loved.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel in Crystal with visitation from 10 AM. Service at 11 AM with a light luncheon to follow.
