He was born Jan. 8, 1938, in New Berlin, a son of the late Frank A. Sr. and Kathryn Loretta Shannon Reichard. He married the former Eileen J. Stence, who survives.
Frank was formerly a member of the 193rd Special Operations Group and served in the Air Force.
He was a retired procurement officer with the Air National Guard, 201st Civil Engineering Flight. He was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Mr. Reichard was a member of Clark's Valley Zion Evangelical Congregational Church.
Frank was also a member of the Dauphin-Middle Paxton Fire Company No. 1; the Perseverance Lodge No. 21, Free & Accepted Masons; the Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Shrine; Zembo Temple Police; Upper Dauphin Shrine Club; and a charter member of the Dauphin Athletic Association, where he was instrumental in starting the Little League baseball and football leagues. Frank was also a Little League coach in Dauphin and Middletown.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Eileen, are one son and daughter-in-law, Frank A. III and Jody Reichard of Harrisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Lynne M. and Stavros Kouros of New Cumberland; five wonderful grandchildren, Taryn M. Reichard, Frank A. Reichard IV, Tyler R. and Morgan L. Reidlinger, and Apostolos "Toli" Kouros; three brothers and sisters-in-law, George E. and Jane Hurst of Fort Worth, Texas, William E. and Sharon Reichard, and Dale S. and Debra Reichard, all of Mifflinburg; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Fay D. and Marlin Oberlin of New Berlin, Kay F. Derk of Mechanicsburg, Pat A. Williams Fausey and companion Dewey of Sunbury, and Emily O. and Ronald Kline of Winfield; and many loving nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert E. Reichard, in 1982.
The family will receive friends and guests from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home Inc., 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, where a memorial service will follow at 11 with his pastor, the Rev. Gary C. Luckenbill, officiating.
Burial will be in Dauphin Memorial Cemetery, Dauphin.
