Frank Roach Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 27, 2013.
Frank Roach Sr.

Frank Roach Sr. was born October 2, 1926, to the late Jim Roach and Melessie Jones. God called him home on Saturday morning, March 23, at his home. His son, Jacob Roach, also precedes him in death. He was the oldest of three children. He received Christ as his Savior at an early age. He chose to further his knowledge of God's word by attending the Baptist Bible College in Birmingham, Ala.

He was married to the late Cyntonie McDaniel Roach for 42 years. To this union, six children were born.

There was almost no place anyone could go in the Quad Cities area without, at some point, running into Pastor Roach. He was such a gregarious and authentic person. He was the oldest member and served longer than any of the other ministers of the Muscle Shoals District Missionary Baptist Association.

He is survived by sons, Rev. Frank (Lee) Roach Jr., Florence Ala., Rev. Ronald (Lela) Roach; daughters, Minister Rosetta (Rufus) Harris, Janice R. Gilchrist and Valarie Davis, all of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; two sisters, Sarah Williams and Bell Fuqua, both of Lima, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (Emmite) Doxie, Saginaw, Mich., Nazola (John) Morgan, Jacksonville, Fla., Phyllis McDaniel, Florence, Ala.; three brothers-in-law, Harold (Barbara) McDaniel, Florence, Ala., Samuel McDaniel, William (Emma) McDaniel, both of Saginaw, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; also many beloved nieces; nephews; and other family members and friends.

My Prayers are with the Roach family during these trying times. Rev. Roach was a great preacher. He certainly knew how to reach, teach & preach the word of God in a significant way. I gave my life to Christ during a revival that he preached @ Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in 1969.

To the Family of Frank Roach, Sr.
I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your dad, Frank Sr. My parents (Bill "Jr." & Laverne Hancock) thought a lot of both, your mom and dad. You all lived behind us when we lived on West Tennessee Street and you children (mainly the girls and Jacob)and my sisters and I played together when we were kids growing up.

I remember hearing my dad talking about visiting with your dad and how he said he would have loved to hear your dad preach! He always said he bet your dad could (as the old saying goes) really "shuck the corn"!

I have lost both of my parents, also, so I know the saddness you feel but also the joy in knowing where your dad resides now that he has entered the Beautiful Gates of Heaven. I'm sure your mom/dad and my mom/dad are all rejoicing together around the throne of God as we speak.

May your precious memories of them and little Jacob ever be present in your lives. God Bless you all and keep you in his loving embrace during this difficult time.
