Sabia, Frank
Frank Sabia, age 87, a Stamford resident, died Wednesday November 13, 2013 in Stamford Hospital. Bom in Stamford on October 9, 1926. Son of the late Salvatore and Maria Lucia Racina Sabia. He was an electrician for the Board of Education and Stamford Municipal Buildings. He was a United
States Army veteran of World War II serving in Korea. Survivors are his wife, Carmela Colangelo Sabia. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this year. Daughter, Lucille and Richard Merry of Poughkeepsie, NY; Son, Salvatore and Elizabeth Sabia of Greenwich, CT; ten grandchildren and one great grandson: sister Carmella Pirone of New Canaan, CT; one brother Rev. Msgr. John Sabia of St Jude Church, Monroe. Predeceased by two sisters Nettie Sabia Annetta; Angle Sabia Mecca and Brother James Sabia and several nieces and nephews. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow in St John Cemetery, Darien, CT. Friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday November 20 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468.

John, Carmella, and the Sabia Family. It's been many years since I left Stamford, but I remember seeing so many of you on Virgil Street. I just heard of Frank's passing. My sympathy and prayers. I will offer my Mass this coming Sunday for the repose of his soul. May he rest in peace!
