SATTLER
FRANK A., SR.
Age 83 of Monroeville, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2003. Frank was born in New England, ND. Upon graduation from University of North Dakota in 1941, he moved to Pittsburgh where he began his forty-two year tenure as a Research Chemical Engineer with Westinghouse and received awards for forty patents. He was an original founder and member of North American Martyrs Church and involved in many church activities including the church choir since 1961, a commentator, and CYO activities including coaching basketball, baseball, and softball. He was a gardener, and an avid golfer who made a hole-in-one on #9 at Willowbrook Golf Course in Apollo, and shot his age at 78 years old. Beloved husband of Margaret Miller; father of Mary Ruth Lareau and her husband Ken of NJ, Mimi Priselac of Monroeville, Major General John F. Sattler, USMC and his wife, Ginny, of Tampa, FL, Robert and his wife, Ruth, of Forest Hills, Lucy Rencewicz of Monroeville, Colette Rost and her husband, Jim, of Columbus, OH, Frank, Jr. and his wife Mary, of Monroeville, Jim and his wife, Robin, of Fallston, MD and Maureen List and her husband, Rick, of Monroeville; grandfather of Kenny and his wife, Lauren, and Teri Lareau; Shauna Seliy, Jessica, David and Sarah Priselac; Mike and his finance, Liz, Elizabeth and Maeve Sattler; Danny and his finance, Nikole; Maggie, and Robbie Rencewicz, Hannah, Bridget and Lucy Rost; 2nd Lt. Frank (Anton) Sattler, III, USMC, Brad and Corey Sattler; Morgan, Lauren, and Austin Sattler; Erica, Emily and Jessica List; brother of Sister Mary Ruth Sattler of Mankato, MN and the late James, Margaret Phillips, and Rosemary Wenino; brother-in-law of Maureen Miller of Wilkinsburg. Friends may call from 7-9 pm on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday at GENE VAN HORN, MONROEVILLE FUNERAL HOME, Lloyd Van Horn Funeral Director, Beatty Rd., & Route 48N, 412-372-5200, Parkway East, Exit 14B, 2nd intersection. Mass of Christian burial at 10 am on Saturday in North American Martyrs Catholic Church. Interment at Good Shephard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the "Hope Scholarship Fund-MVEC", 336 Shaw Ave., McKeesport, PA 15132. The Fund was established by the Sattler children and grandchildren to honor and thank Frank and Marge for giving them all they need to lead an extraordinary life. The mission of the Fund is to assure that other children have the same opportunities in their lifetime as the Sattler children.
