Frank Schubert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 13, 2014.
Frank Brittain "Britt" Schubert, 87, went to meet his Savior on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Monday at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3200 Denton Highway, Haltom City 76117. Interment: 2 p.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet. Memorials: In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Britt was born and raised in Fort Worth, and attended Carter Riverside High School, TCU and graduated from North Texas State University. After returning from the Army, he married his high school sweetheart, Eileen, and began raising his family. They had three children, Nancy, Frank and Janice, and raised them in Haltom City. Britt spent many years working at Graybar Electric before starting his own electrical contracting company, American Electric. Britt was a fabulous husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a godly man of character, integrity and love, which was evident in the way he raised his family and the way he ran his business. He was a great servant leader for over 50 years at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, and in his many years of leadership with Boy Scout Troop 122, Meals on Wheels, mission trips, and other endeavors. Britt always made things joyful, whether it was telling funny stories to his grandkids, wearing silly holiday ties or just pulling pranks on his family or friends. His thoughtfulness, kindness and gentleness stood out to all. He maintained deep, long-term friendships with golfing friends, bridge club members and many others. He loved spending time with family and trading stories with his children and grandchildren. After Eileen passed away in 2007, Britt married Betty Cole Broadie in 2010, whom he had known since childhood, and they shared the later years of his life together. Her love and care helped him through his final journey with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Everyone he talked to knew, emphatically, that Jesus was the Lord of his life and died on the cross for his sins. Whether encouraging nurses, his children or his grandchildren to read different parts of the Bible, his comment was, "I don't know why, but I know God is in control." We rest peacefully in that declaration, and know that the first words he heard in heaven were, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Britt was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; daughter, Janice; and brothers, Walter and Franz. Survivors: Wife, Betty; sister, Jackie Doyle; brother, Orein Browning; daughter, Nancy Stroud and husband, Laythan; son, Frank Schubert and wife, Lisa; and his son-in-law, Guy Sellers and his wife, Valerie. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Britt and wife, Amy, Matt Stroud, Nathan and wife, Tori, Joel and Hannah Schubert, Brad and wife, Amelia and Josh Sellers; great-grandchildren, Ella and Drake Stroud and Ainsley, and Brittain and Campbell Schubert. He is also survived by Betty's children, Ronnie Brown and Darlene Grantland.
