Frank Surdi

Frank Surdi passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the age of 72.

Born on November 24, 1950, Frank was a lifelong lover of the performing arts and a friend to all whom he met. He earned his Bachelor of History degree from Hunter College in 1973. In 1978 Frank married Deborah Isenberg, whom he had known since high school. They were married for 44 years.

Frank worked in finance for various companies in the entertainment industry including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The Brooklyn Academy of Music and most recently the Roundabout Theatre Company until his retirement.

Frank, also an accomplished performer and director was a featured actor in many community theatre productions including Showboat, Guys and Dolls, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello Dolly, Most Happy Fella, among many others. He formed the cabaret group Sound Six which appeared in many cabaret venues in the NYC metropolitan area.

In addition to his wife Deborah, Frank will be lovingly remembered by his sister Denise and her husband Bruce, his niece Danielle and her husband Richard, his niece Antonia, his nephew Gabriel and his many, many friends. He is pre-deceased by his mother Carmela and his father Ermenegildo (Gildo).

Because he would love to be remembered for the laughter and hilarity that he brought to his friends, family, and coworkers, (a sense of humor that he kept to the very end), there will be no wake or funeral. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for some time in mid-January/February 2023. Information will be forthcoming, and we ask that you check back here for updates.
